Wow, my vet submitted the claim & I got reimbursment within a week!

Maddie is 8 yrs old. She had some loose teeth. Under anesthesia with X-rays, she had 11 extractions! 4 on the top front; 6 on bottom front and 1 tooth with an infection in the back. The panel work and surgery came to approximately $1200! This was the first time the vet office offered to submit the claim themselves. I was shocked at how quick the claim process happened. And very grateful that I got 75% reimbursement of the total cost. This is my 2nd dog with VPI/Nationwide. It's worth it!!!

Frustration w/claims reviewer not being able to READ a receipt broken down by pet NAME!

I have a claim #2020013106524 that was denied because of Code #Z156: "We were unable to process your claim because the pet listed on the invoice/receipt of this claim does not match the insured pet's name as listed on the policy. In accordance with the "Your Duties" section of your policy, please provide an invoice that includes the name of the insured pet. Attach this document and fax everything to 800-704-7002 or mail to P.O. Box 2344, Brea, CA 92822." When I submitted the claim, I highlighted my insured pet's name as my veterinarian's office people are unable to break a receipt down by individual pets. I take the four of them at a time so they are all one one receipt. This claim was denied for the TOTAL and I only claimed what pertained to Stanley (C-1431875) @ $90.25 non-routine lab checking his liver function that was found abnormal on his annual exam (I did NOT claim THAT), plus the office visit @ $42.75. I resent for a review and have not gotten a response. You asked for my feedback, so there you have it. I know, I know... the claim's people are busy, but that only discounts how busy I am by telling me that and I have to make another attempt to justify my claim... if they would simply READ the receipt and not look at the bottom line and deny it that would be a step in the right direction.
