Impressed

I have been really impressed with this insurance. I have had great experience with customer service as well. All my questions were answered and they lady I talked to was super sweet and personable. I am very impressed with the plan and the coverage. So glad I chose nationwide for my pet insurance.

Best decision I have ever made for my pets!

Prompt payment and easy claim service that helped us in economically uncertain times.

We had to take our dog to the vet two times in two weeks. Filing the claims were really easy online and payment was issued within a week. Nationwide has been great at providing peace of mind for my family as we care for our sweet dog.

Very Delayed Claim Processing Times

I have filed many claims thus far, and I have only had one smooth experience with Nationwide. Oftentimes, they request more information or specifics that I had already submitted. Not to mention, I have a claim that has taken nearly 2 months to process, and they have reached out letting me know it could take an additional 30 days. This prevents my dog from getting the care he needs because we cannot depend on our insurance to reimburse us in a timely matter or even give us updates in a timely matter. We are overall very disappointed.

Coverage

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage. The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees. All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.

Payout Limits

Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances. There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.

Deductible

Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000. Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.

Age Limits

No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness. Other plans may have age restrictions.

Waiting Period

14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months). Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
