Claim Process
Nationwide is a great Pet Insurance Company to deal with. You make the claim process very smooth and seamless. It is very appreciated, especially when things come up unexpectedly. Thank You for being their when it counts.

Claims Rejected because of glitch on Nationwide's end & more!
My vet has gone to paperless documentation during the COVID-19 crisis. Because of that, I upload my documentation via the "attach PDF" button. I can see the PDF is attached when I submit the claim, however, each of my last 2 claims were rejected for missing documentation. The only option I have then is to mail the appropriate paperwork in, massively slowing down the payback times for these visits. The middle of a pandemic isn't the most convenient time to have to wait around for money.
On top of that, my vet does not provide diagnosis on receipts. Never has, never will. I have had multiple claims kicked back because of this. Instead of calling the vet, I am docked and have to go track down the information and mail it in. This is especially frustrating because I was just docked almost $100 for a missing diagnosis on his yearly check-up. There's no diagnosis at a check-up. Now, not only do I have to go track down this information and mail it in, but I also have to explain to the insurance company that a diagnosis wasn't required on the claim.
I went through the first year of using this company with minimal issues. We're one month in to his second year and I can't wait to get out. This has become nothing but a hassle. (PS - I emailed about the Attach PDF issue yesterday and still haven't heard back. Solid)

Payout Limits

14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.
Exclusions
Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months).
Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
