Protecting your pet without going bankrupt

I signed up for VPI when Lucky was 6 months old. He is now 12. Overall, I’ve been delighted to partner with what is now Nationwide. The customer service reps I’ve dealt with are highly experienced professionals who truly are “animal” people. Whenever I hear that friends have just gotten either a dog or cat, my first response is “don’t forget pet insurance” and I do recommend Nationwide. (BTZW: I answered “no” to the question about helpfulness because I respected the advice of the person that told me about VPI).

Excellent

So far I have been very happy with Nationwide coverage in the care of our pets(Ebony and Pepper). I have not run into any issues of not getting covered/reimbursed what’s promised in the policy.

Blessed to have Nationwide Pet Insurance

My dog suffered a torn ACL and the best way to repair this is surgery TPLO. It is very expensive but my dog is my family and I would do anything for him. I am very fortunate to have Nationwide Pet Insurance to help cover so much of this expense. Thank You.

Coverage

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage. The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees. All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.

Payout Limits

Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances. There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.

Deductible

Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000. Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.

Age Limits

No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness. Other plans may have age restrictions.

Waiting Period

14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months). Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
