Great , quick service !

Our Yellow Lab’s hospital cost was covered and the reimbursement was quick and accurate . I’ll keep our coverages for two yellow Labs indefinitely because I have experienced the out of pocket cost without Nationwides great coverage .

Service is Faster, but the limits are still too low

Returns for claims have become much faster in the last few months. That is very appreciative, since I've been spending money on pets both for unexpected expenses and annuals. The biggest issue is still the caps on treatments. My foxhound contracted an unexpected infection following surgery at a surgical site. It's taken lots of care, vet visits, and antibiotics both topical and oral, to get the site nearly healed. However, I've "maxed out" of the amount allowed for that treatment. What? I still have another week - two weeks of treatments needed to get the site fully healed. If my vet still needs to treat it, and my animal still needs treatment, then why is there a cap -especially at the cost monthly we pay for an older dog? Also, the coverage for heartworm preventative isn't even half of annual treatments. We live in Florida. We must treat all year, even if others choose to not treat in the winter up north. Why are you only covering less than half? And apparently fleas don't count in the health of the dog, or dental care either because there is no coverage. So, while I continue, there are certainly improvements that can be made. People are buying pet insurance these days, stop trying to squeeze us for every penny. More people would buy it, but you've given yourselves a bad reputation for not paying (trying to say everything is pre-existing), and setting limits too low.

It is a must have Pet health Insurance

They pay within 3 weeks. The customer service is excellent. They reimbursed me most of Tiggers expenses. It is already stressful to have to deal with their ailments. It is comforting to know that nationwide covers most of the expenses.

Monthly Cost

Policies start at approximately $12 per month.

Coverage

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage. The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees. All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.

Payout Limits

Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances. There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.

Deductible

Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000. Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.

Age Limits

No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness. Other plans may have age restrictions.

Waiting Period

14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months). Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
