I just cancelled
I just cancelled my MetLife Pet Insurance. My cat vomited once during the two-week waiting period in October 2025. Now every claim that has anything to do with vomiting is being denied on the basis of a pre-existing condition, even a trip to the ER with entirely different vomiting symptoms (appeal denied). My understanding is that vomiting in a cat is a symptom and not a condition. For example, cats can vomit due to eating too much too fast or medical conditions such as hyperthyroidism or lymphoma. Hyperthyroidism or lymphoma should be categorized as a pre-existing condition if this was the case, not the symptom of vomiting. I consider this policy to be worthless for my purposes of giving my cat the best care regardless of the price.
