MetLife | Pet Insurance Review

Takes a long time to get paid back.

This is the first time ever having pet insurance. I was skeptical at first but I can tell it will definitely help with all of my pets health needs the claims is straight forward and easy to submit.

I have never had a problem with getting Bitsy Baby’s medical covered with MetLife. It has always been a great experience

In the past I've had TERRIBLE experiences. On one claim it took me THREE CALLS because the claims person insisted that the dates of service were before the policy went into effect because the vet had included a grooming that was done prior to the effective date. Had he/she bothered to look at the date that the MEDICAL SERVICES were provided, it would have saved me, Customer Service, and 3 supervisors aggravation. Another time they denied a claim for Simparica Trio that the vet called into Costco because the Costco receipt didn't have the dog's name (Costco doesn't give special receipts with the dogs name). A subsequent photo of the label on the box solved that problem. So I was pleasantly surprised when I submitted a claim on 6/3 and received notification on 6/4 (ONE DAY! ) that reimbursement was being deposited to my checking account. I had previously been told (after I ranted like a lunatic) they were supposedly working on revamping their processing, so it's possible they've improved their review process.

All my claims have been processed promptly. Representatives have been very pleasant anytime I've had to call them.
