Terrible

Terrible. I adopted a senior cat from the AHS on October 26, 2023. She came with fresh bloodwork, labs and a clean bill of health besides possible age related arthritis and dental issues. She also came with a pamphlet stapled to her adoption packet pushing 30 days of Met Life pet insurance. I got her the insurance. When I adopted her, she was underweight (5 pounds). I followed up with my vet in December. She was given a blood panel which was fine except some mild kidney changes. She had a urinalysis which came back fine. Fast forward to September of 2024. She has been diagnosed with renal failure and guess what? After a year of paying premiums, they refuse to pay saying that it is a pre-existing condition. Save your money people. You would be better off putting your premiums in a savings account to provide care for your furbabies. Very disappointed! Update: 10/25/24 Metlife deleted my policy right off the website! It's not even listed under inactive. This is some shady BS! Time to alert the Minnesota Department of Commerce and the Attorney General's office. This is ridiculous. I asked that my policy not renew but instead they left the renewal and canceled my existing policy.

slow reimbursement

Just takes about an average of 15 days or so to get reimbursed for your claim- from the time you file until you get paid. N.B. after being approved of your claim- it will still take an additional 2-3 days for completion.

canceled the policy SCAM

I have requested to cancel the policy as this is beyond frustrating and never have I experienced this with MetLife and my family has been with MetLife for over 20 years. I joint MetLife because of a great services is it provided to my mom as well as me as her dependent. I recently have received does not reflect MetLife to be. A claim was passed around for 4 months , multiple times it has been rejected due to not having documentation of the dog for eight weeks. I provided documentation from the moment I got the dog at 8 weeks until now. The claim was in reference to his allergic reaction and MetLife kept asking me about stitches as I have told them multiple times I received the dog in that condition and I have no documentation from anyone prior prior to the date, listed for services at my local pet hospital. When I received the dog, he was approximately eight weeks old was what I was told. I noticed kept digging at his ear so I took him to the vet, whom found one small stitch in the bottom of his ear and that’s what he removed. There was not like there was a Large amount of stitches that was removed. It was one tiny stitch that was stuck in hiding in the bottom of his ear that I didn’t even know was there. Like I mentioned 1000 times now , he was that condition when I received him as a gift, the dog was saved by Neighbor as he said, his neighbor was going to take the dogs to the pound the neighbor then gifted the dog to me! Again as Ive said after I got the dog, I took him to the vet. I even provided the SOAP and records from the time I got him. So now I am being told that my claim and no claims moving to are being covered because I don’t have that documentation from birth to 8 weeks for a gifted dog that was rescued from going to the pound. I am truly disappointed in these services

File a claim for pet

I thought the overall ease of filing a claim for our pet was simple and clear. The processing of claim was a bit long. Partially due I did not send in the pet's medical records with the claim. MetLife had to go back to vetenariam and request the files. That took an extra week. All in all it was a good claim processing and I did get some reimbursement.

Ease of use

I at first was nervous about the process of doing this claim. however, after reviewing metlife site and discussing with a person, I proceeded forward. The process was pretty straight forward and easy to follow. make sure to have a scan copy or pic of your service. Make sure it was clear, and it has all the needed information. I have done all of this and that made it a easy process. I would recommend using Metlife insurance because they coverage isn't confusing and the claim process was easy to understand.
