Lemonade is a new kind of pet insurance company that uses artificial intelligence and behavioral economics to replace brokers and bureaucracy with bots and machine learning.  They aim for zero paperwork and instant everything, and are obsessed with social good, delighting customers, and pets.

Love this pet insurance! Such a good decision.

First of all, so glad I decided to get pet insurance. It earned its worth within 2 months when our puppy, Pretzel, got unexplainably very ill. The price is very reasonable (so much less than I expected!). The customer service is phenomenal— they are fast, super friendly, and easy to communicate with. The app makes it insanely easy to make a claim & is user friendly. The only things I don’t love are: having to record videos of yourself explaining what happened (personal opinion; I just don’t like it) and not having better rates for multiple pets. Overall, I am glad I went with Lemonade & am thoroughly pleased with them thus far.

Lemonade makes it so easy to request a claim and fast service.

Lemonade has been great. Their app/website is easy to follow and fast response. We have a new puppy and as expected she will have a few extra claims while she is young. I expect vet visits to drop off significantly after she is spayed. I highly recommend Lemonade.

Claim Handled Quickly and Fairly

Our dog ingested some grapes and had to be taken to the emergency vet to induce vomiting, receive fluids, and have labs and monitoring done. The claim process was easy and paid fairly with no drama or fuss. We're very thankful that we have this insurance for our pup.

Supportive easy pet insurance

Lemonade makes it so easy to communicate and submit claims. They are kind and eager to help and seem to have a sincere appreciation for our furry friends! Price wise it's comparable to most and Lemonade's ethics and mission made my choice to use them easy.

Monthly Cost

Policies start at $10/Month

Coverage

Accident and Illness coverage, with optional wellness package at reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible.

Payout Limits

Lemonade Pet Insurance benefits cap off between $5,000 and $100,000, depending on how users set up their policy.

Deductible

$100, $250 or $500 annually.

Age Limits

Pets must be at least 8 weeks old to enroll. Lemonade does not terminate coverage for pets as they age.

Waiting Period

All Lemonade pet policies have a series of waiting periods: -2 days for accidents -14 days for illnesses -6 months for cruciate ligament events There is no waiting period for preventative coverage.

Exclusions

Exclusions follow the market standard, so they don’t cover pre-existing conditions; bilateral conditions, dental illness, microchipping; anal gland expression; spaying and neutering; something that happens because of breeding or pregnancy; prescription food; vitamins; and supplements; experimental treatments, or recurring conditions. They will be expanding some of these coverages soon.
