Non stop premium increases without corresponding increase in value/services covered

Continued payment increases with excuses that costs have gone up in states, claims paid out exceed revenue brought in, and generally tone deaf customer service. No option to get exams covered either (for illnesses or injuries). Just the actual medication and any procedures. Other insurance companies are cheaper and have good ratings. Last increase was 30% year over year!

Healthy Paws is there when you need them

Healthy paws has helped me out multiple times with two different dogs. Their premiums aren’t cheap but neither is vet care, and when you need to run to the emergency vet and get emergency surgery for your loved one it’s great to know that no matter what Healthy Paws will have your back financially, allowing you to do what is best for your pet. Their claims process is straightforward and the processing times are fast. I highly recommend them to anyone with a pet!

Recently, my 6 year-old dog Oliver was diagnosed with severe chronic degenerative valve disease, severe mitral regurgitation, with ruptured cord of the anterior mitral valve leaflet. I called Healthy Paws to confirm the claims filing process and got a very knowledgeable and friendly customer service representative who easily explained the process to me. Since then, I have filed multiple claims, and all have been reviewed in a timely manner with prompt payments to follow. Healthy Paws is GREAT Pet Insurance!

Monthly Cost

$15 – $80, depending on breed, zip code, age of pet and choice of deductible and co-pay.

Coverage

One plan covers accidents, illnesses, cancer, emergency care, genetic conditions, alternative care and more. You can choose a co-pay of 10%, 20%, 30% or 40%. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.

Payout Limits

No per incident, annual or lifetime pay-out limit.

Deductible

You can choose an annual deductible of $250, $500 or $750* *Choice depends on age of the pet

Age Limits

Pets must be at least 8 weeks old and under 14 years old at time of enrollment. Once enrolled, pets can stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Coverage begins 15 days after your policy starts. There is a 12-month waiting period for hip dysplasia claims.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Hereditary and congenital conditions are covered, however hip dysplasia is only covered in pets who enroll before they are 6 years old.
