Used 2 other pet insurance companies before H-Paws

I am a professional police dog trainer and handler. Until I retired, my working dog company had over 40 dogs. We used VPI for several years on the recommendation of our vet. They were OK because we knew nothing better. Over time VPI started "nickel and diming" us over vet bills. SO I looked for another. The second company offered a better claims reimbursement, but there customer service was non-existent. Claims were SLOWWww. And they did not cover medications or physical therapy. I did some research on-line and found Healthy Paws. There 90% coverage plan for 2 dogs was $20 a month cheaper than the previous vet insurance company. Their plans cover everything we need. Claims service is amazingly fast. No quibbling over our vet bill. They just pay it—everything but the vet exam. On top of it all, one of my dogs had to have knee surgery (TPLO) recently. Someone at H-Paws sent me an email asking how Zoey was doing. How cool is that? H-Paws is impressive. I recommend it to all professional trainers and handlers, especially to police departments with K9 working dogs. Budgets are tight. They can save big bucks on their vet costs.

Great company... glad I did my research

I spent hours comparing different insurance companies, and ended up with Healthy Paws. I've had them for over a year now, and due to my dog's many allergies, have submitted countless claims. They are extremely efficient and the quickness if receiving your reimbursement checks is wonderful. They seem to be a smaller company, because when you call, a real live person answers, not some automated machine. They respond to email inquiries right away, and are always very personable. I recommend to everyone to get Healthy Paws, they are definitely the way to go. I would have given a rating of 10 if exam fees were covered, but nonetheless it's still a great company

Very Impressed

Please know this is the first online review I have EVER written...and I conduct a tremendous amount of commerce online. I share this information because I'm hoping it will fortify my review. I have been a customer of Healthy Paws since April 2011. I have a policy for both my German Shepherd (6) and Golden Retriever (7). Unfortunately, during the course of the last couple of years both dogs have had their fair share of illness and injury. My GSD has had two knee surgeries within the last six months! Had it not been for Healthy Paws I'm not sure I would have been able to provide them with the level of care that they've had. There is no doubt that the veterinary services both of my dogs have been afforded have significantly improved their quality of life, as well as extend their life. I owe this in large part to being a customer of Healthy Paws. Literally, within a few days after faxing Healthy Paws a claim form I receive notice of reimbursement. Within a day or two after that I have a check in my mailbox. No exaggeration! And, to top it off, I receive emails from Healthy Paws checking up on my dogs to ensure they're doing OK! By the way, the reimbursement amounts are significant - knee surgery (TPLO to be specific) is over $5,000 per surgery, not including rehab therapy (which they also cover!!). Customer service: A+ Return on Investment (your premium): A+ As far as I'm concerned if you have a dog (or cat) and you do not have a policy with Healthy Paws

professional and kind

Healthy Paws sent emails confirming receipt of my claims and informing me of when the checks would be processed. I received the reimbursement checks within 2 weeks of submitting the claims, and then I received a very caring email asking how my dog was doing. During such a stressful time, it was helpful to know the financial aspect was being taken care of just like Healthy Paws said they were going to do. I have to admit I was a bit skeptical thinking the process wouldn't go smoothly just because you never know in these situations, but the process went very smoothly and efficiently. This company has a healthy balance of professionalism and kindness. They will have my business as long as I am a pet owner. They provide peace of mind, and they follow through with what they say they will do.

Healthy Paws is Amazing!

I did tons of research on insurance companies, and found that Healthy Paws had the best coverage and least amount of exclusions. I didn't realize that the customer service would be so great. Each and every claim has been reimbursed promptly without any headaches and followed up with a concerned email to make sure my little guy is feeling better. I couldn't recommend them more highly. Thanks, Healthy Paws!
