What I needed when I needed it!
I adopted Bear, a Karelian Bear Dog, a year and a half ago when his person died and Bear lost his home. I had recently lost my 10 year old KBD to cancer. Bear and I were truly a match made in heaven and we helped each other heal.
Bear was diagnosed with a torn ACL and underwent TPLO surgery not quite 2 weeks ago. I submitted a nearly $2700 claim late the morning of December 6, 1 day post op. By early afternoon I received notification that the claim would be paid per my policy and I received the check the following Thursday, Dec 13 only 1 week post-op.
I have only good things to say about Healthy Paws! The response to this claim, to all questions I've had - all have been wonderful and professional.

The Best Pet Health Insurance Available!
Thank God for Healthy Paws! I spent a lot of time researching all the Insurance Companies and after reading all the "fine lines" it was clear that Healthy Paws offered the best plan available. It seemed too good to be true, but in fact, it is true! When my Miniature Schnauzer puppy, Shizzle, came down with a serious Respiratory Infection, Healthy Paws covered everything the plan states, along with the follow up treatment that the vet recommended. I didn't have to compromise the quality of Shizzle's care by cutting back on treatments and testing because I had faith that Healthy Paws would be on my side, and they were. Soon after the Respiratory Infection, I caught her munching on a rotting mouse carcass, which resulted in terrible GI problems and a Leptosperosis scare. Again, Healthy Paws came through. I was able to take Shizzle to her awesome veterinarian and they took great care of her! Not only has the Insurance been a blessing from a financial standpoint, but Healthy Paws has excellent customer service. Every time I have called them with a question, I was able to speak with a friendly, compassionate, and informed live person. And when someone didn't know the answer to the question, I received a call back within a few hours with the answer. They also send nice personalized emails checking up on Shizzle. They let you know they really care! I've made it my personal mission to tell everyone I know with a pet about them. They have been amazing!

By far the best Health Insurance
I can not say enough good things about Healthy Paws !!!!!!!Low deductible, speedy reimbursement and great communication . We needed them often, because our little pug is delicate and we had some serious illnesses.
They have not terminated our insurance nor have they raised the rates -we love them.

Excellent service
This was the first time I had to file a claim since I purchased pet insurance for my two dogs, Bailey and Lucy. Bailey was attacked by another dog while she was out for a walk with my grandson. Her front leg received several puncture wounds in the attack which resulted in a substantial vet bill. After several visits to the vet and several weeks we finally got her healed and she is as good as new. Because there were several visits and different invoices I expected a difficult time with the insurance reimbursement but I was wrong.
The claim process was extremely simple and within three days of my vet faxing the claim, I had a check in my hand for the full amount I expected to receive. I wish other types of insurance were so easy to deal with.
I would recommend Healthy Paws Insurance to anyone seeking quality insurance for their pets. I did a lot of research on various companies before I chose Healthy Paws and I am glad I did.
$15 – $80, depending on breed, zip code, age of pet and choice of deductible and co-pay.
Coverage
One plan covers accidents, illnesses, cancer, emergency care, genetic conditions, alternative care and more.
You can choose a co-pay of 10%, 20%, 30% or 40%.
The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.
Payout Limits
No per incident, annual or lifetime pay-out limit.
Deductible
You can choose an annual deductible of $250, $500 or $750*
*Choice depends on age of the pet
Age Limits
Pets must be at least 8 weeks old and under 14 years old at time of enrollment.
Once enrolled, pets can stay insured regardless of age.
Waiting Period
Coverage begins 15 days after your policy starts. There is a 12-month waiting period for hip dysplasia claims.
Exclusions
Pre-existing conditions are not covered.
Hereditary and congenital conditions are covered, however hip dysplasia is only covered in pets who enroll before they are 6 years old.
