Healthy Paws | Pet Insurance Review

Unfortunately, we've had to make a couple of expensive surgical claims on our pet. With Healthy Paws, unlike some other companies, there is no hassle, no second guessing, and no representative telling you that your vet charged too much and they will only pay what is "customary" for that procedure. We live in Iowa, for Pete's sake! Vet prices here are typically lower than in surrounding states. We actually had another company stop reimbursement in the middle of treatment on one of our other dogs because the policy renewal time came around, and the illness was then considered pre-existing for the new policy term. That's when we found Healthy Paws for our newest family member. Seriously, you won't find a company with better customer service, more caring representatives, and faster reimbursement. We hope to never have to use the insurance on our dogs; but we will never be without Healthy Paws, just in case.

We'd had our puppy for only a month when he took a tumble and broke his leg. One bad landing resulted in two surgeries, X-rays, exams and other necessary care. The bills added up very, very quickly. Healthy Paws impressed us with their professionalism, courtesy and timeliness. The claims were paid quickly after submission, and the customer service was excellent and efficient. Fingers crossed, this will be the only time our pup will need this type of emergency care, but we can say without a doubt that signing up for pet insurance was definitely worth it.

Healthy Paws Insurance is the way to go! Our plan is a low $100 deductible and a high 90% reimbursement for only $35 per month. That monthly fee has paid for itself over and over again in reimbursements. You never expect your puppy to need it so young, but our 10-month old Havanese was injured and compressed a growth plate in his leg and needed a $2400 surgery to repair it. Healthy Paws reimbursed the surgery and medications at 90% - and the check was in my mailbox within a couple of days after filing the claim. Their claim filing process is very easy and they keep you informed of the status of your claim, often processing it within minutes of receipt. And then they always go the extra mile and send an email to check in on our pup after a few days. It's a nice touch. I recommend them to everyone I know with pets. We couldn't be more pleased or impressed with this company!

Healthy Paws insured my cat Grady without qualification in 4/2012 when he was 11 years old. our first claim was made in 8/2012 when Grady was sadly diagnosed with a form of stomach cancer with a prognosis of about one year. We took him through a series of of about 14 vet visits and hospitalizations which due to our amazing doctors, stabilized his condition until last month. During this time my vets submitted claims to Healthy Paws which were immediately acknowledged and paid within 2-3 days without fail. They even picked up on an unpaid bill that I had not tracked. I always received letters of concern about Grady's health. Today, after his passing last week, we received a sympathy card with a note from all the staff. Their total recognition of our difficult times and ease of processing claims helped smooth out our last months with Grady. How much more kind and caring can a company be? Healthy Paws sets out to be of service to pet owners in their time of greatest need and have gone beyond fulfilling their mission with personal attention and genuine concern for all their clients.
