Healthy Paws Rocks!

I'm an Italian Greyhound owner. Contrary to what most people think, the breed is not quite as fragile as it appears. However care MUST be taken against broken bones for the first year and a half, at least. After losing 2 IGs in January of 2011, we brought another one into the fold. I decided to invest in pet insurance, because most iggie puppies are hyper and just plain crazy! Boy, am I glad I did! Our little CeCi has definitely had some issues in her young life (she'll be 2 in November). No broken bones (knock wood), but she had a run-in with fire ants, which caused swelling of her joints and much pain; she is treated off and on with antibiotics for IBS or IBD; her most recent injury was a deep tissue bruise around the hip joint of her left leg that resulted in much pain and limping. She is being treated for that now, along with a urinary tract infection. I'm happy to say that she appears to be on the mend. Still has some meds to finish up, but is using her leg again! Healthy Paws has always been prompt in replying to our claims, and reimbursement is pretty quick. Customer Service personnel seem very willing to help in any way that they can. This was a great choice for us!

The best pet insurance company!

After getting my bichon/poodle mix puppy back in 2009, I quickly realized how much vet bills can sneak up on you. After researching pet insurance companies, I went with Healthy Paws based on all the positive reviews. Luckily I went almost a whole year without needing its services, but a couple of weeks ago my dog started urinating blood and after a checkup, it was discovered that she had large struvite stones that caused blockage. She then had to have emergency surgery to remove the stones and also be on a course of antibiotics. This resulted in a big vet bill of ~$1,800. Knowing that I had insurance coverage, I was able to focus on her getting well rather than worrying about the costs. What really impressed me was the speed of the claims service and how easy it was. Even though it was my first claim, Healthy Paws processed it in under a week (and most of the delay was my vet's office getting Maya's medical history faxed to them). I did not get any nagging questions from them and the statement of benefits was very clear as to what qualified and what didn't under my policy. The two times I called the company, I was always able to speak to a live person instead of those annoying automated systems that can never detect your words correctly. They were quick to respond via email too, and I would get a reply within the hour most of the time. My dog is now recovering fine from surgery and pretty much back to her playful old self. I highly recommend any pet parent to obtain pe

Couldn't be happier...

My dog, Kula, had surgery for a torn knee ligament at the beginning of August. I had submitted a claim for previous X-rays and treatment and was very pleased with the hassle-free processing of the claim and short turnaround period for my reimbursement. Little did I know that Healthy Paws would surpass all expectations with my next claim-- the charges for the surgery itself. I faxed the claim form with the invoice and the surgeon's notes on Wednesday, August 23rd and the next day I received an email with an Explanation of Benefits informing me that my reimbursement was being mailed shortly! The next day! What insurance company processes claims that fast?!? I was in shock. And then I got a very sweet email this morning from Jen (yes, a real person sending a personalized email) asking how Kula is doing after her surgery. I have had negative experiences with another pet insurance company and expected to deal with the same headaches no matter what company I was with. I fully expected to get hassles and delays in response to each claim filed. Instead, I get prompt attention and phenomenal customer service. Healthy Paws is a refreshing anomaly and I will refer them to everyone I speak with about pet insurance. Thank you for making an otherwise difficult and emotional process of having major surgery and after-care so much less stressful.

Awesome!

This is the second claim we have submitted to Healthy Paws for Abby. The first was for luxating patella on both legs. Both claims were handled in such a short time we were shocked. Customer service is great. You feel like a real person instead of a claim number. I have recommended Healthy Paws to friends and even complete strangers in the vets office. Really glad I researched before choosing Healthy Paws.I only wish our "human" insurance company could figure out how Healthy Paws does it!

Healthy Paws is the insurance to get.

I was referred to Healthy Paws by a friend who absolutely loves it. Her dog was hit by a car (he's okay! Just a few bruises) and she said she was very happy with Healthy Paws and that she received her check back quickly. My mother and I did our research before committing to any insurance company and this one seemed to be the best one out there. My dog got sick only a few months after we registered. We were so glad to have this insurance when he got sick because we know how expensive hospital bills could get and it was definitely peace of mind knowing that it wasn't all coming out of our pockets. The staff that I have spoken with, whether through email or by phone (a different person every time), has been so helpful and friendly. Will recommend to anyone with a pet!
