Healthy Paws | Pet Insurance Review

My claim took a little longer to process; it was my first, and vet records had to be forwarded not only from my vet, but also from the shelter that had cared for my dog prior to her adoption. I was prepared for the delay because the website clearly provided this information in the FAQ. I have to admit, after hearing stories of frustration about pet insurance in general, I was not quite convinced that it was a worthwhile investment until the reimbursement check actually arrived! Thank you, Healthy Paws, for not discriminating against older pets. Princess and I are very happy to have you on our side!

Have two Labrador Retrievers. One of them ate close to 100 paint balls. The other ate a few. Took them both to the doggy emergency room. The one that ate the most ended up having seizures and had to spend multiple nights while the other just spent one night and never really showed many symptoms. Both dogs are doing fine now. My experience with Healthy Paws was excellent. I filed two claims (one for each dog) and in both cases they were quick to answer questions and more importantly reimburse me for my claims. Healthy Paws was very easy to work with and quick!

We recently had occasion to put our Healthy Paws insurance policy on our puppy to the test. He had injured his paw on something, and it created an unexpected bill of over $500. We followed the easy to understand directions, submitted our claim, and within a couple of weeks we were reimbursed for the full amount due to us (less our deductible and co-insurance payment that we had selected). I highly recommend Healthy Paws. I am a preferred provider for many human health insurance companies, and my experience with Healthy Paws was completely painless compared to my experiences working with human health insurance company policies and practices. Healthy Paws is the 3rd pet insurance I have used. We used VIP which I did not like at all and I think Pet Plan. Healthy Paws is by far the best. They cover exactly what they say they are going to cover AND they are So nice and helpful. You can even get assistance via email after hours. I was so surprised at the end of the night when I sent an email wondering about a problem with my first claim that was cleared up in minutes via email and it was my misunderstanding. I received follow up emails about my pet's health and then emails explaining my reimbursement which was amazing. The monthly payment is reasonable for my $100 deductible and 90 % coverage and I can't believe how efficient and kind they are. I HIGHLY recommend Healthy Paws Insurance!!!! - and am so grateful I made the decision to use them.

I cannot be more pleased! I have three dogs...two Chihuahuas and a Pit Bull insured with Healthy Paws. My oldest chihuahua is 12 years old and we never had a claim. But, unfortunately, I had three claims with my two puppies the past two years. Tiny, my 6 pound chihuahua, fell down the steps when she was 9 months old and x-rays had to be taken. Last week, she had a very high fever and had to be hospitalized for two days for hydration and antibiotics. Six month ago, my Pit Bull Daisy ate a tennis ball and we had to hospitalize her until we were sure she passed the pieces. In all three cases, Healthy Paws paid without a problem! I cannot be more pleased! They even emailed me a few days later to see how the dogs were doing. Great company with caring customer service! I recommend the company to my friends! I wish my (people)family's health insurance was so easy! We had our claim money in less than one week! Now, let's hope my younger dogs stay healthy and claim free like my older dog!
