Bear was diagnosed with pancreatitis and extreme intestinal inflammation. Needless to say we were extremely concerned. He had to be hospitalized for 4 days and during that time the vet performed treatments to flush his stomach, intestines and colon. His very serious condition was treated and all went well. Bear is back to his bouncy happy self! Again Healthy Paws helped to ease our hearts and bring peace of mind during a traumatic and stressful experience. Our 10 year old otherwise healthy and happy shih Tzu had a seizure and began acting very lethargic. 11/17/14 was terrifying. Khan, our 3 year old BT, started vomiting around 8 pm and continued throughout the night- over 30 times. We took him to the vet the next morning, where he was in borderline shock. Over the course of his 3 day stay, he was diagnosed with severe pancreatitis, which was caused by a blockage in his stomach and intestines, which turned out to be carpet. We had 2 options: Emergency surgery, or putting our baby down. Thanks to Healthy Paws and their fantastic coverage (90%), we were able to opt for surgery. The total bill was $3973. We had made a prior claim, so our paperwork was processed and reimbursement of about $3500 was approved and mailed in less than 24 hours. On top of their fantastic customer service, they also emailed me today to see how he was doing. It's a wonderful feeling to know your dog is in good hands, and we will never insure Khan with anyone but Healthy Paws.

I am so thankful that I purchased Healthy Paws Insurance! I have had 3 Golden Retrievers in my life and learned the hard way with my last Golden the importance of carrying pet insurance on our loved ones when she became ill from consuming the chicken jerky treats that were produced in China. We just completed a claim with Healthy Paws for an emergency operation for our 8 month old chocolate lab. She had a piece of a chew rope stuck in her tummy and it rotted away about 5 inches of intestine. Honestly, I expected reimbursement to be a bit of a battle.
