Healthy Paws | Pet Insurance Review

My two year old cat "Molly" has severe allergies and just had hip surgery to remove the left femoral head due to a fracture. Healthy Paws has totally exceeded my expectations with how quickly they review and send the reimbursement insurance checks (usually arrive within 3-5 days). Their customer service is remarkable! I chose the 80% coverage for my 3 cats - I have used it for my Matty as well when he was 8 months old! Molly's allergies are covered which was a big relief to me as well as Molly of course. Most of the time people without insurance end up going in debt to keep their pet alive or sadly put them to sleep. I learned my lesson when another cat of mine had cancer and she did not survive but after $2,000 in medical expenses (no pet insurance) she was gone. I did my own research as most vets don't have Healthy Paw brochures in my area. I compared all insurance companies and found Healthy Paws the most value for my money. I love Healthy Paws!! p.s. My vet office was quit interested so with their permission Healthy Paws sent them some brochures.

My dog was on another insurance for about 6 years. I changed over to Healthy Paws because I couldn't strand dealing with the other insurance and I had read rave reviews about Healthy Paws. Within a 6 weeks of being on the insurance, my dog needed emergency surgery for a splenectomy. Costs were about $5,300. If we hadn't had this insurance, we wouldn't have been able to afford the surgery and would have had to put him down. I had a check in hand 2 or 3 days after I had submitted the claim. It took longer because there was a lot of paperwork. My cat needed exploratory surgery last week and Healthy Paws offered to prepay their portion of the bill. Once again, the time between submitting the claim and receiving a check was just a few days. The few times I've had to actually speak to someone, they were very pleasant. Emails are answered within a few hours. And they just sent me an email asking about how he was feeling and were specific as to what sort of surgery he had. I seriously can't say enough nice thing about them!!!!

Our beloved Frenchie, Bowser, had to undergo immediate surgery due to a disc protrusion with spinal cord compression at C2-3. With an MRI bill of over $2300, and surgery estimates of almost $5000, Healthy Paws was there to quickly reimburse us of the 90% of the bill. To be honest, I was expecting a difficult time with submitting a claim (as this was our first major medical claim). But Healthy Paws was awesome from the time we submitted our claim until post-surgery (even following up with an email to see how our Bowser was doing). Every phone call to Healthy Paw was greeted and helped by a very kind customer support personnel. They truly have gained my trust as best pet insurance in my books. Usually I never review anything. This place is unusually good. I bought this insurance in October and had three claims since then with no hassles. Last week I turned in a bill at 9am and got a response back from them by noon saying my claim was already processed and that a check was going in the mail. I got it 2 business days later. No joke! I have had no increase in premiums nor was it a hassle submitting a claim. No questions were asked even. I wish I had this for my health insurance instead of Blue Cross/Blue Shield. The best part is that its super easy to file. Our vet filed for us twice for free and I filed once myself online. Although we own a dog. This place is the cats pajamas. Pun intended.

Within a six week time frame my dog Emma was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease that affects her toenails and then had to have a mast cell tumor removed. I submitted two claims online which was very easy to do. The first claim included Emma's complete records since she has been insured by Healthy Paws for 3 1/2 years and these were the first claims. Within a week the claim was processed. I expected longer since it was the first claim. The next claim was a day or two after surgery and received reimbursement checks a week later. I have worked in the health insurance industry for many years and know prompt and correct claims processing makes a company. Healthy Paws could give lessons to our health insurance companies. I researched several pet insurance companies and chose Healthy Paws as I thought it fit my needs the best and now I know I made the right decision.
