Healthy Paws | Pet Insurance Review

When my three year old Dog Maxx was diagnosed as having fluid around his lungs and the severity of his situationand that he needed Specialized Tests and Treatment I called Healthy Paws to find out if I needed any kind of approvals or pre-determination documents. The Customer Service Rep told me no. Just take him in and whatever it takes to get Maxx Healthy again would be covered. It was easier than dealing with my own health insurance company. I had some cases when my pup got sick and the vet asked if we wanted to follow certain course of treatment and for a moment I wondered, what is the other option, let her suffer, or worse? And then I realize, some treatments are so expensive it is a valid question from the vet. I, like most pet owners, would do anything for my pet, but that comes with a price, well Healthy Paws has always been there, and the reimbursement checks come back quickly and without questions! I mentioned this to other dog owners in the park and I'm glad some of them took notice, so far three of Bella's friends (Spot, Saxon and Coco) had similar experiences with Healthy Paws, the best!

Seriously have peace of mind when I know that my dog is insured by healthy paws. My dog got into a car accident and within the same week, I submitted my claims and they were processed in the next few days. I did this all through the healthy paws app on my phone. At first, I noticed that after 3 days, my claims weren't processing, but after I gave them a quick call, they actually gathered all the info I needed on their end so that I didn't have to make any additional phone calls to my vet. And my claim was processed the next day. Received my check in a few days. Very quick, I love it! All the procedures/treatment were covered except the initial exam, which is stated in their policy.

I have had Healthy Paws insurance for a couple of years now for my rescued golden mix. I was a little hesitant to get insurance for her, as she was only about 8 months old at that time and I thought she was so young, that I would never use it. But am so glad I decided to get it! During the past 3 years she's had several incidents, including someone stepping on her tail and we thought it was broken (fortunately it was not), a small dog bite, a foxtail in her ear and another foxtail in her neck so deep she needed x-rays, ct scan, ultrasound and surgery (this last one was over $6,000!). Every single claim has been easy, paid in time and exactly what they promised. The staff is very friendly, helpful and I always get an email asking how she is doing. This company is amazing and it is such a huge peace of mind that I can provide the absolute best health care for my dog regardless of cost because I know Healthy Paws is there to help me.

I've been very skeptical about pet insurance, having heard about some experiences with other companies that refused to cover pets after being a member for years or refusing to cover major surgeries/illnesses etc. After enough surprise vet expenses over the years, I decided to give this a try. I only signed up for Healthy Paws a few months ago, but I have had a positive experience so far. --First of all, it was easy to sign up. Painless. --Healthy Paws is completely up front with what they do and do not cover. --They process claims quickly, which is more than I can say for any human health insurance that I've had. --Submitting claims is EASY through their app (take a picture of vet's invoice - DONE!). --I have boxers, which are unfortunately prone to cancer. The vet recently diagnosed a mast cell tumor, and we had to schedule a sudden expensive surgery. Based on experiences with human health insurance, I was expecting to have to fight them about justifying the expense or spend a lot of time haggling on the phone or submitting paperwork. BUT Healthy Paws gave me absolutely no trouble about covering the procedure exactly as they had promised. It meant that I could focus on actually taking care of my pup rather than stressing about the cost.
