Purebred Corgie. This means something different to us now vs when we first dreamed of getting our beloved furry family member. Before it meant permanent smiles, cuddles, and an amazing dog we could love for years to come. It still means all those things, just add "bubble dog" to the list.
Our baby has had some terrible luck. Parvo, pancreatitis, and other illnesses that left us scared we may loose him for good. Luckily the choices we had to make were never financial deal breakers thanks to our pet insurance group. HealthyPaws has saved our dogs life multiple times.
We are incredibly fortunate for their support, quick response time, and care (they even email us to see how our guy is doing). Great people, great company, we are very very thankful they have been there for us. We don't know what we would do without them.

Top Notch Pet Insurance
I chose Healthy Paws from a list of nationally-known insurance providers in part because of their high ratings I found on the web. Their customer service folks were very helpful in answering questions before I enrolled, and I was able to tailor our options according to our needs. When the unfortunate occurred, and we needed to submit a claim, filing a claim was easy, and the response was prompt.
I would highly recommend Healthy Paws to anyone who has a pet.

Healthy Paws is a Lifesaver!
I purchased Healthy Paws a few months before I took a road trip two years ago. I made sure that I had a full comprehensive physical exam (bloodworm etc) done early on to show that my dog was healthy. I felt that this would help with any future claims I may have to make.
Long story short - a few months after getting insurance for my pup, she became devastatingly ill. Despite being on a topical flea/tick preventative, she contracted ehrlichia (like Lyme Disease). The symptoms were dramatic - extreme lethargy, limping, swollen joints, weight loss - It took lots of tests and even a joint tap to see that she indeed had the infection. Over $1000 later and she was feeling much better! Healthy paws paid out 90% on every claim I made!
Then, my vet notices that the limping was not just due to the ehrlichia, my dog had a recent partially torn cruciate ligament - perhaps due to weakness/muscle wasting from the ehrlichia. Over $4000 later for surgery and she's got full range of motion and is happily walking and running with ease (although we don't play ball any more after finding out how hard it is on their joints/ligaments).
Well, I wish I could say that was the last of it, but there have been two trips to the emergency vet - once for a relapse of the ehrlichia and another time after my dog started vomiting during a camping trip. Thank god she ended up being fine, but dogs can scare the heck out of you and it is such a relief to know that if something major comes up you won't have to sell your house to pay the vet bills.
My dog goes everywhere with me and I watch her like a hawk. She's extremely well trained and is even my "demo dog" for training consultations (I'm a dog trainer). No matter how much you train and care for your dog, if you take them out into the world, you never know what can happen. Also, Healthy Paws covers congenital illness, so even if you're dog/cat lives in a bubble, they are still covered if genetic illness or cancer strikes.
I recommend Healthy Paws to all of my training clients and many of them sign up, and several have had to make claims that more than covered their monthly rate and premium. Healthy Paws is GREAT!!!
Over the past month, my dog Henry has been through more tests and Exams (2 X-rays, 2 Ultrasounds, Surgical Biopsy) and been prescribed more Medicine (Antibiotics, Pain Killers, anti-nausea, IV fluids...etc) than we could even imagine. He also was sent to the University of PA ER for 1 night and was admitted to the hospital for another 2 nights. Henry is a member of our family, so we obviously would have done whatever it took to keep him healthy and happy, but anyone who has ever taken their pet to a ER or had surgery, the prices can be astronomical. Healthy PAWS absolutely made it so my family did not lose our entire savings. I cannot say enough about the positive experience I have had as a loyal customer since 2014. There is no small print, these guys really care and I would/ and have recommended them to every pet owner who loves their pet the way we love Henry.
