Healthy Paws | Pet Insurance Review

We were on the fence about getting health insurance when we got a new puppy, but am so glad we did and that we used Healthy Paws. Our 4 month old Frenchie broke his kneecap while jumping around, which required surgery and a month-long recovery with multiple check-ups. $6,000 later, I was ready for a fight to get all of my claims approved and processed, but Healthy Paws couldn't have been easier. After taking pictures of each of the invoices through the mobile app and having the hospital send records to Healthy Paws, my claim was approved within ~2 weeks and they mailed me a check shortly thereafter. I'd definitely recommend Healthy Paws to anyone getting a dog.

I've been really happy with Healthy Paws' coverage for our lab-pit mix. Last December, he tore his right cranial cruciate ligament (like a human's ACL) and tore the meniscus, so he needed surgery costing more than $3,300. After I submitted the claim, Healthy Paws asked for the medical records from our primary care vet and the surgeon, and within a couple weeks they completed the claim processing, and paid 90 percent after payment of our deductible. Their website made it easy to track the claims, but it was really easy to call them up and speak with one of their claims processing staff members. I can't say enough good about Healthy Paws: coverage of major, unexpected issues is what pet insurance is all about, and they do it right.

Our puppy developed severe pneumonia and bronchitis from a cold that was going around his camp. It was a very stressful time as he had to be hospitalized. Having Healthy Paws insurance, we didn't have to worry about making sure he had the necessary medical care and they covered everything! The claims were processed in about two weeks and filing a claim could not be easier. Uploading photos on the app of the invoice took no time at all. They even checked in to see how he was feeling!

We absolutely love Healthy Paws! This is hands down the best pet insurance there is out there for your pets. Recently we were told that our dog Tony had to have surgery. Because our dogs are insured through Healthy Paws we knew that Tony could have the surgery that he needed and we wouldn't have to worry about not being able to afford it. Healthy Paws offers various deductibles and reimbursement plans that you can fit to the needs of you and your pets. Having had several dogs in the past who had cancer or heart problems, and having had to pay thousands of dollars to try and save them, we had decided that with our new dogs that we would carry insurance on them so we could make sure they always received the best medical coverage they could get. Healthy Paws has made that possible for us to do that. We highly recommend this insurance.
