Coverage is clear and doesn't have grey area. It is easy to look up my policy to see what is/isn't covered so there aren't any surprises. I've used the coverage for the first time this year and was pleasantly surprised to find out they even covered the poison control call I had to make. I work with a lot of insurance companies at the vet's office I work at, but even on the vet side, Figo is great. It is the insurance company I recommend to new pet parents.
My experience with Figo is that they are the insurance company Mr. Incredible (Bob) worked for while he was in hiding. They are in the business of NOT paying for anything, in fact you will need a lawyer to help you navigate their submission/resubmission/denials as they run you around the gauntlet. If you're looking for peace of mind, this is not your company. If you love conflict, this is your company.. Heck, they even review each claim and second guess your Vet's prescriptions for your pet.. you heard that right, they'll say, "Well, we didn't feel this medicine was necessary for that ailment".. yup, that's right, your vet is not your vet, Figo is the back-seat driving vet... While Figo was my first pet insurance experience, I'm old enough to have almost 50 years of other insurances under my belt, including many-many claim situations... Figo? Bottom of the heap... nice app, bad service.
Oh, I read another post and was reminded that they just magically increase your premiums, drastically... Yes, they do. Nice initial quote, won't last.

The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.

Annual limit of $5,000, $10,000 or unlimited depending on your chosen plan.
Deductible
$100, $250, $500, $750, $1,000 or $1,500 annually. Deductibles offered depend on pet’s age and location.
Age Limits
Must be 8 weeks or older to enroll. No upper age limits apply.
Waiting Period
1-day for accidents, 14 days for illnesses, 6 months for hip dysplasia and orthopedic conditions. (Both hip dysplasia and orthopedic condition waiting periods can be waived by having exam/waiver form completed by veterinarian)
Exclusions
Curable pre-existing conditions may be eligible for coverage if symptom free for 12 months
Conditions arising from a repetitive and specific activity, eg. Ingestion foreign object, ear infection caused by water, snake bites, etc. – excluded after 3 occurrences
