New puppy, new insurance!

Well, after dropping my last pet insurance I was a little gun shy. I realize that everything is not covered, yet after paying for several years, I received no monies for anything. I searched the Internet and found out about Figo. Since I just got a puppy, I decided to change companies. Well, if responding quickly to questions was an Olympic sport, Figo would win the gold medal. They quickly respond, either through email or text. I also received notification about my claim quickly. If you are interested in obtaining a pet insurance and are a member of Costco, pull the trigger and give them a chance. Costco is currently offering a discount.

I find the monthly cost is expensive…

I find the monthly cost is expensive and it still did not completely pay for Tuckers surgery at last claim, I was disappointed. Find it very costly to insure a healthy Puppy, it only pays a portion of the annual visits and a portion of the cost of vaccines, I am considering if it is necessary

Price Increase with no claims!

We’ve never had a claim that’s been accepted or approved. Now the price has gone up over 20.00 per month. I’m doing my research on other pet insurance. Why did the Price go up so much? Especially with no claims paid out? But if I speak to anyone they are polite and professional.

Monthly Cost

$9 to $135 on average depending on chosen plan.

Coverage

You choose a reimbursement level of 70%, 80%, 90% or 100% after your deductible. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.

Payout Limits

Annual limit of $5,000, $10,000 or unlimited depending on your chosen plan.

Deductible

$100, $250, $500, $750, $1,000 or $1,500 annually. Deductibles offered depend on pet’s age and location.

Age Limits

Must be 8 weeks or older to enroll. No upper age limits apply.

Waiting Period

1-day for accidents, 14 days for illnesses, 6 months for hip dysplasia and orthopedic conditions. (Both hip dysplasia and orthopedic condition waiting periods can be waived by having exam/waiver form completed by veterinarian)

Exclusions

Curable pre-existing conditions may be eligible for coverage if symptom free for 12 months Conditions arising from a repetitive and specific activity, eg. Ingestion foreign object, ear infection caused by water, snake bites, etc. – excluded after 3 occurrences We now have a wellness option We have a diminishing deductible Copay & deductible waived for emergency life-saving treatment (in the case of an accident, not illness)
