Continually denied & wouldn't accept the only records we had for our recently rescued dog. Denied claims with inaccurate statements & reasons. Would strongly recommend not ever using this "scam".
I was thinking of buying pet insurance. I shopped around and Found Fetch to be the most reasonable. I still had questions about the policy so I called in. Josh did a great job explaining how the policy works. He answered all of my questions so I purchased the policy for my pet.
Heartlessly More Than Tripled Cost to Force Us Off
My dog is old and he's having some health problems. That's what pet insurance is for, right?? Not according to Fetch! Since 2020 they raised our annual cost form $400 to over $1300 in an attempt to shake us off, but guess that wasn't enough! We just received our renewal notice and they raised our cost to over $3,800 AND dropped the amount from 80% reimbursement to 70% reimbursement! I called because I honestly thought there had to be a mistake. Their response? NOTHING WE CAN DO ABOUT IT. No appeals process, just suck it up or cancel. Guess they finally decided they were done making a profit off my little sick dog. Now I'm left without insurance and an elderly dog with pre-existing conditions. Thanks, Fetch!

Adopted a dog from Anti-Cruelty of…
Adopted a dog from Anti-Cruelty of Chicago. At the tail end of the paperwork process, Ken comes in and makes a pitch for Fetch Pet Insurance. Cost quoted was $26. We said I'd like to think about it, he said no problem and he would send an email in case we decided to move forward that we could either contact him through or click a link.
A couple of days later we decided to get the insurance and my wife said we never got an email from him. Tried to reach him for 2 days before he finally returned my call. Most of the time my calls went direct to voicemail. Seems he was busy and his phone had died. Said he'd sent an email but, would send it again. We verified the email was correct. Here we are a week later and still no email and he does not return calls. Most of the time, again, my calls go directly to voicemail as Ken has said he has frequently been too busy to charge his phone and it winds up dead. Imagine that.
I've made two calls to Fetch customer service. Per their CSR, there should have been a quote in their system that generated off of the quote we had gotten from Ken. It should have been filed by the email Ken had for us. This shouldn't be a surprise at this point, there was no quote in the system. The first guy didn't give a damn but, would be happy to sell me a policy for the $42 I'd been quoted by their online system. The second guy seemed irate about our experience and was able to get the price down to $35. However, at this point I'm pretty well ticked off that Fetch's negligent employee is going to cost us $9 a month so I declined. He told me he would have a manager call me on Monday.
This second call took place on Saturday. It's now Wednesday. I still haven't heard from a manager. Actually, at this point, I'm not expecting to.
Ken was super nice in our interactions with him over the two days we were at the shelter looking at dogs. Apparently he doesn't understand the way sales jobs work or his part in the system.
We think we will still buy a policy for this dog. We have already scratched Fetch off our list so the search will go quicker. The way we look at it, if they have this much of a problem before the sale, I can't even imagine how bad are they going to be when it comes time to reimburse for a bill.
I've had this insurance for my dog since he was 6 months old and he is now 12. Yes, the premiums start out low and slowly increase yearly. With that being said, this company is excellent at paying out the claims. It's very easy to submit a claim and the payout is usually about 3 weeks you will have your money back, and it's 80 per cent of what you paid. These past few years have been rough for our dog. He started out a few years ago with a torn ACL and heart condition to which he needs an echo every 6 months and medication. He had the surgery to repair his knee and Fetch paid us back 80 per cent. It made a huge difference. This year with Fetch, we actually almost met our annual limit of $15,000. Our dog had a cancerous tumor, tore the ACL on his other leg, needed a CT Scan, echos, plus consults with surgeons and oncologists. The cost of the 2 surgeries, one to repair the ACL and the other to remove the cancerous tumor, was about $6,900. Fetch sent us a check for $5,548 just a few weeks later. Amazing. They are very consistent and the customer service is excellent. Don't listen to the negative reviews. The premiums are going to increase as your dog ages, but it is well worth it when you have a few rough years like we have had with our dog. Also, I get my dogs medication through the Fetch Pet Pharmacy and instead of paying $100 a month, I pay only $20 a month after submitting the receipt, they send me the money. When you get pet insurance you have to think about the future. When dogs reach a certain age, they get sick. This is an excellent pet insurance.
