Our 2 1/2 year old dog Jack got sick last month and the vet said it was pancreatitis. It didn't take a day for the bill to climb to almost $1000. I had no issues at all getting reimbursed (less my deductables etc.) by Fetch- they put the $$ in my account. Very pleased with turnaround time. Jack has a special diet now, and very healthy!

If you consider a dog having tartar at every vet visit a pre existing condition you’re nothing but a scam and your explanation means nothing other than your excuse not to pay out a claim. If you find me any dog who hasn’t had tartar from the minute they are born would be a miracle as even humans go to a dentist 2-3 times a year to clean their teeth and we brush and floss. Either way increasing premiums and denying claims based on the inevitable is essential a crime in my books. You’ve taken approximately $15-20k of my money for both my pets with basically hardly any claims and when the time matters you have loopholes to make the position of owing a pet difficult while you profit. I will not test with this answer and raise the issues with pet insurance to ensure pet owners aren’t continuously scammed

I have been a client for at least 7 years with Petplan, and the service used to be superb until a few years ago when they got rid of the team who would help get missing paperwork for the claims. The latest issue was that MY PREMIUM HAS TRIPLICATED from one moment to another without notice! Now, If I want my premium to get somewhat closer to what it used to be, they are forcing me to lower the coverage, duplicate the deductible, etc. When I first became a member it was with the promise that the younger the dog was, the insurance would stay lower. At this point is as if I was a completely new client with an older- much higher-risk dog. Never mind that my dog has been healthy and the claims for the occasional mild accident or an episode of tummy infection, thus very low claims. I am feeling very sad and upset about the injustice. If I knew this would happen, I would have rather paid every visit to the vet out of pocket since we have paid more in insurance premiums than in medical costs. Don't believe for a second that your furry baby will be protected in old age! Still, I have not heard from them, and they are not willing to help on the phone. Beyond frustrating!
