Buyer Beware - Small Print Clauses

Buyer beware. Small print clauses. Wouldn't work with us on a pretty common sense issue regarding orthopedic issues in the first six months. She was limping a little after getting up but went away after a few steps so I took her in for a check. In the app, I picked limp/lameness from the drop down on the claim because there aren’t a lot of choices. They denied my claim for pre-existing orthopedic issues and said I can never use their insurance for any related issues in her life. She was never diagnosed with dysplasia or lameness. I got an $800 estimate for X-rays from the vet but not doing it because nothing will be covered. We tried talking to the insurance company hoping they would see this as an app triggered unfounded misunderstanding. They couldn’t understand what the issue was. This is a mutt puppy mind you and not a hip issue prone breed. Not getting another cent of my money and lucky I don’t try to collect the first couple months of premiums I wasted money on. Your reply about small print and fraud blow right by the point. It was obviously not fraud with a puppy and was never diagnosed anyway, just enough legal BS to keep making money and blame the consumer. I see more bad reviews than good so I am guessing you will fold or change names. I really wish there was a local office to visit.

Terrible Coverage Near Quadrupling of Premiums

I've used them for my Welsh Springer Spaniel for years. When they denied my first claims more than 2 years ago, it was suspicious but I let it slide. Now I've been paying premiums every month, easy to forget on autopay, and in the last few months they nearly QUADRUPLED the premiums with minimal notice and no real explanation. Last straw was rejecting 3 out of 4 of my latest claims because they were just past an arbitrary 60 day time limit for filing. I would have been better off self-insuring for all the premiums I've paid. Don't do it.

Embrace is Bad business

My dogs were covered with Embrace not once but twice and the second time they were covered I filed a claim, and it was denied due to not having an ortho exam on file. When I took this plan on, I asked about the ortho exam and was told that it was not need since I once had a policy with them, so they denied my claim and replied to my oldest furry baby condition was preexisting and he in a holding pattern because of not having the ortho exam. I pay more for pet insurance then I do for my Medicare or to be lied too and never to get a return follow-up call as requested. Buyer beware My review stands as I stated. Got an email from Embrace that contradicts everything said in this reply. Which leaves me to have suspicions about business practices. I would never refer anyone to Embrace that care for their pet(s). Either way Embrace didn’t provide enough information so that I could make an informed decision.

Difficult to collect

Very easy to enroll difficult to collect on. In over yrs I had one claim and they kept finding reasons to not pay it. That was until it was time to renew and I received a courtesy call asking if I was going to renew. I explained I was not impressed w their claims department. Then instantly my claim was ‘approved’. Policies also get very expensive as the pet gets older.
