My initial experience
I reviewed various options for pet insurance and settled on Embrace because of the wide coverage and the fact that they take puppies and cover wellness care.
So far I am frankly very impressed. Within 48 hrs of signing up my new puppy had his required exam which I have already been informed has been reimbursed (only a few days later)and then the puppy became ill and had to be taken back to the vet... and again this was promptly covered. However what really pleased me was the totally personal response to my email questions and the caring attitude of the responding staff. Even though they must have many emails each day my response was personal and not the usual computer generated note I am used to from health insurance companies. I am very pleased I signed on.

Great Company
The follow up on claims is excellent. Never gave pet insurance much thought. My vet as well recommended Embrace, and we are very happy to have insurance for the 2 dogs. I highly recommend Embrace to friends that have recently acquired a new pet or are thinking of getting one.

Have dealt with Embrace for 2 dogs now. They always respond in a timely manner keeping me informed of the status of my claim. Submitted a very large claim last year due to my puppy's fatal illness. They paid out the maximum amount allowed, which was in the $10,000++ range and I had only had the insurance for about 6 mos. They sent me a condolence card expressing their sympathy for the loss of my puppy with the check. Now that is very compassionate customer relations in my book, so I have purchased a policy for my new puppy.
Monthly Cost
$13 – $100, depending on your chosen plan.
Coverage
You have a co-pay of 10%, 20% or 30% after your deductible, depending on your chosen plan.
The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.
Payout Limits
Annual limit of $2000, $5000, $10,000 or $15,000.
Deductible
Annual deductible options from $100 – $1,000.
Age Limits
Pet must be at least 6 weeks old to enroll.
New pets over 14 are eligible for accident-only coverage.
Once enrolled, pets can stay insured regardless of age.
Waiting Period
There is a two-week illness waiting period, which begins on your policies’ effective date. Orthopedic conditions have additional Waiting or exclusion periods that vary by state.
Exclusions
Pre-existing conditions are not covered.
Hereditary and congenital conditions are covered if they have not been diagnosed or suspected before the policy becomes active.
Main plan covers alternative treatments such as chiropractic, acupuncture and homeopathic when provided by a licensed veterinarian.
Optional wellness and prescription drug plans are available for an additional cost.
