Embrace | Pet Insurance Review

Based on a phone call on a holiday weekend, Embrace issued precert in time for surgery to save my dog's leg. We are grateful beyond belief. This is the Embrace that I've recommended to everyone I know and didn't want to have a pet without. Not having to worry while waiting on surgery or delay surgery due to financial worries is why I have insurance! Thanks!!!

Embrace quickly processed and issued a check for a biopsy and diagnostics within less than a week when my 2-year old suddenly had a cancer scare and hairline fracture in her leg from a bone cyst. During a terrifying week when I thought I might lose her, need to amputate a leg or face really bad choices, Embrace totally came through for us!

My Anya was diagnosed with gastric adenocarcinoma (stomach cancer) at age 5. Just the surgery and stay itself was almost $9,000 ... not to mention monthly ultrasounds, an autologous cancer vaccine, meds, and soon chemo. I don't know how we would have afforded this without insurance. We would have (credit cards), but it would have been disastrous to our finances. As a result of knowing things were covered, we were able to explore our treatment options; we were also able to get additional opinions from the VCC in CT and also the VCA in Cleveland. As a result, she's still here, active, and doing well 6 months after symptoms began -- almost unheard of in this cancer. I only wish there was an option for a larger annual cap -- I would totally pay for that for all of my animals. Once cancer hits, $10,000 doesn't always go far if surgery is involved. But boy, did that $10K help. Get insurance, get the maximum annual cap you can ... it's affordable and absolutely worth the money.
