Embrace | Pet Insurance Review

We have a 10 year old Golden doodle. She is in good health. We had a neighbor recommend this insurance and our eye vet also raved about it. We found Embrace had the best annual fee and 80% plan with a $750.00 deductible. I assumed we would not need it as she was well. One day on October 10th without any notice or symptoms, she became lethargic, unresponsive and labored breathing. Within 8 hours of the onset of this illness, she was found to have a grapefruit size mass growing on her spleen. Worse it burst open and she was about to die due to internal bleeding. Because we had insurance we opted to try and save her and emergency surgery performed. It is now 3 weeks later and she recovered, tumor was benign and best of all Embrace paid the claims without hassle. If we did not have insurance we would have put her down. The total bills were around $6500.00, not cheap but after we met our deductible they swiftly approved and paid the remainder at 80%, no questions asked. This illness was very unfortunate. I hope they will renew me after our year is up! If they do and don't jack up my rate, then this company may be the best ever. I read on one review before buying, pet insurance is actually "economic euthanasia insurance". It very well was indeed and now we have our dog back hopefully for several more years. Thanks Embrace.

It’s nice knowing that your Other other child in the fam has health coverage. Especially living out in the country an all. Mighty pleased with this company so far. Nothing bad had happened I hope it stays that way as well, and customer service is super relaxed an chill.

I can't say enough how thankful I am for Embrace. Our dog passed away a couple weeks ago. We've had insurance with them pretty much since we adopted him about 10 years ago. He has had some issues here and there, and Embrace has always been prompt and clear in providing coverage, explaining what they covered and why, etc. The staff has always been great about responding to questions I have. The most impressive thing to me, is when our dog passed away, the staff was SO KIND to us. Losing a dog is losing your best friend, so things haven't been easy, but the staff sent us a hand written condolences card, they made a donation in our dog's name in memory of him, and in every correspondence they have been so kind and respectful. The end of a pet's life can also be filled with a lot of medical bills, so having Embrace has been so helpful to us financially at this time. If we ever decide to get another pet, we will be going with Embrace. Thank you all~

Embrace Pet insurance truly cared about the health of our amazing dog, Pepper. They were truly compassionate while speaking with us over the phone and helped us each step of the way.

This is the fourth different pet insurance company I have been with over the years, for different pets and in different states. Embrace is by far the easiest to use. The patient portal is very intuitive. And they also have been the easiest to communicate with by FAR. Any and all questions get a personal and detailed response. Their rather broad interpretation of what constitutes a "previously existing condition" is disappointing. But they were very up front about it, and sent a detailed explanation of what would be excluded in advance (with opportunity to appeal for further review). There have been no hidden "surprises" like too many other insurers spring on pet owners. On the whole, I'm glad we are with them.
