Look elsewhere

It has been the worst experience with claims. Like stated in other reviews, they do anything to not pay out. When I discussed my concerns to agents they repeated the same thing over and over not helping me out. Customer service does not help at all and are very dismissive. They were very dishonest when I first got the insurance. Now, they aren’t trying to cover anything and claim everything as preexisting.

Worst pet insurance company

Worst pet insurance company! Takes over a month to process a simple claim. It feels like they do not even care about you or their customer. I needed to constantly follow up and ask for updates. It feels like they do not want to reimburse you at all eve though I have been paying on time every month for the insurance. And this is the first claim I ever used after almost a year of my dog being healthy. First time going to a vet for an emergency and the company would take a very long time to acknowledge the claim and request records from the pet hospitals visited from the past. When I used Spot, it was fast and very convenient. They reimbursed me and was proactive in updating me what was happening on my claim. Unfortunately, I tried Embrace last year and fully regret it. After completing this claim, I will for sure cancel my membership and switch to a different inaurance company. Embrace Does Not Care About You AT ALL. Beware!

Let me start by saying I made fun of people who had insurance for their pets. After adopting my beautiful dog I decided to get insurance. I complained about it every month. My dog now 8 years old and had to have a tail amputation. I submitted all the bills and promptly reimbursed with no issues. It was a simple process in a stressful situation. Best decision i made for my dog and for my finances. I cannot imagine not able to afford a procedure that would keep my dog from suffering or worst have to put him down when he has more years ahead.

Monthly Cost

$13 – $100, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

You have a co-pay of 10%, 20% or 30% after your deductible, depending on your chosen plan. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.

Payout Limits

Annual limit of $2000, $5000, $10,000 or $15,000.

Deductible

Annual deductible options from $100 – $1,000.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 6 weeks old to enroll. New pets over 14 are eligible for accident-only coverage. Once enrolled, pets can stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

There is a two-week illness waiting period, which begins on your policies’ effective date. Orthopedic conditions have additional Waiting or exclusion periods that vary by state.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Hereditary and congenital conditions are covered if they have not been diagnosed or suspected before the policy becomes active. Main plan covers alternative treatments such as chiropractic, acupuncture and homeopathic when provided by a licensed veterinarian. Optional wellness and prescription drug plans are available for an additional cost.
