Embrace | Pet Insurance Review

Don't be fooled by Embrace Pet Insurance low quotes! I have bought Insurance for my pet the past 10 years. Never, I was harassed by the pet insurance company. EPI try to intimidated me through paperwork, email, pre-existing condition to prolong the claim processing time (maybe avoid to pay for my pet's coverage)! When I had sick pet, the last thing I needed were stress, headache and fustration dealing with EPI! I write this review because I try to save pet owners from going through the experience I had with Embrace Pet Insurance.

Unfortunately, my Gus has been a “frequent flyer” of veterinary care. I mainly bought pet insurance for him because I learned that Great Pyrenees are prone to running. Last year, he jumped my 4’ high chain link fence and tore his ACL. (I now have a 6’ cedar fence). He had surgery in January. Embrace was wonderful! They paid 90% of the claim promptly. I can’t possibly express how grateful I am to have insurance coverage through them. They epitomize customer service: superb courtesy, kindness, and communication! I have told many friends and family that they are the best pet insurance that I could have ever asked for. I would not hesitate in the slightest to recommend anyone to sign their furry companion up with them. You won’t regret it!

Everything is easy to do online. Is there an app? That would be a great addition!

This company is horrible. The going rate for Embrace cat insurance is $15 - 25. They have the nerve to charge $72/mo. for one kitty! If you cancel, any treatments that they have sporadically paid for will then become pre-existing conditions that the next insurance company does not have to cover! Once there is a condition the pet has, they will refer to that condition and refuse to pay for things like cancer treatment, because there may be a “chance” the kitty’s condition caused the cancer or what ever the symptoms are. This is a legal scam that needs to be addressed, along with the obvious price gouging during a Pandemic. Insurance Commissioner, here I come. This challenge has been ongoing for three years of overpriced premiums and faulty claims copying equipment. Their equipment requires the processors to read blurry documents uploaded to their site unless the customer has the claim info professionally emailed. This costs more money!

Company absolutely is horrible to deal with. It took me months to get contact to submit claim. Worst pet insurance company I have ever dealt with!!!!!! Plus, they have consistently raised rates by double digit percentage points yearly though having never previously filed a claim.
