Embrace | Pet Insurance Review

I wouldn't recommend Embrace Pet Insurance to my worst enemy. They go out of their way to find reasons to not pay a claim. You purchase this policy thinking that your pet/pets are covered, and then the second you submit a claim they find all sorts of reasons why it should be denied, their most notable being "pre-existing conditions." Case in point: they wanted proof that my kitten didn't have a pre-existing dental condition at age 5 months. Kittens lose their milk teeth at this stage, so they are already growing in new teeth. What vet is going to say, "No, no signs of dental issues..." when the teeth are growing in? None. But that's the kind of thing Embrace loves to do: invent reasons do deny coverage. They LOVE paperwork, but only if it's in the format they want, otherwise they deny it. If your vet gives you a print out and Embrace doesn't think that's appropriate, they will refuse the claim. You adopted a pet from a shelter? Well you better have a full printout of every day of the animal's life or else Embrace will deny coverage (always a pre-existing illness). No one deserves to be put through this when their pet is ill. NO ONE. AVOID EMBRACE AT ALL COSTS.

I have had a couple cats insured with Embrace insurance. I have been very happy with the outcome of my experiences. My most recent cat did not have any pre-existing conditions but in June I noticed that she was losing weight and not eating very much. I took her to the vet and the vet ran many tests over the next month and we still couldn't find out exactly what was making her lose weight but suspected it may be pancreatitis. We finally had to let her go on July 1st. The bills were over $4,000 and Embrace paid a Little over $3,800. I will not ensure any of my pets except with Embrace insurance.

The reimbursement was higher than I thought it would be but the process took a very long time.

I had not filed a claim in quite a while, and their procedures had changed...for the better. I called and asked a BUNCH of questions. I was treated with courtesy and respect, and the CS representative not only answered all my questions, but provided answers to a few I hadn't thought of. I've been able to easily submit my claim online with no issues.

I have had 2 claims and it has been 60 days they are still not complete when they received the SOAP medical history still want place under precondition. I frustrated and thinking about look for another insurance. I max out my wellness plan but still there no pull down menu for illness to submit a claim. They didn't cover exam fees, prescription drugs, and lab test.
