Insane yearly renewal increases.

I thought the company was great because of the coverage I got for the price monthly for an older dog. However, my policy just renewed and it went up from 80$ to 150$ per month which is more than my own insurance as a human. My dog is older (9) but we had no claims and no health issues last year, so no reason for the insane increase besides their algorithm. Beware! I will be switching due to a 47% increase if you’re looking for pet insurance. They said 25-35% is the average yearly increase.

USAA discount scam and find ways to refuse coverage

As a USAA member I joined Embrace due to the discount. I paid $38 a month for a 1 yr old Yorkie. Now that she’s 2, the price increased to $53!!! In the past year I tried to make one claim, for kennel cough which was rampant. I was denied and told I had to wait a year for her to be cough free!?!? I had taken her to get her shots 3 days prior to my vet visit and noticed a lump on her butt. I ask the vet if it was because of her shots and she said probably. I declined aspirating it unless it didn’t go away. Embrace then said they would not cover any lumps, bumps, or cancer until I had it aspirated. It went away. What am I to test? The vet also told me to brush her teeth better because she has a bit of tartar on her tooth. Embrace said they wouldn’t cover any dental stuff until I had her in for a complete cleaning! I never even made any claims for lumps, bumps, cancer or teeth issues…but it’s like they find a way to block paying for anything in the future! And my rates increased!!! Their website doesn’t work half the time. Terrible customer service. I hope USAA sees this and drops them!!
