Good for a long time but prices keep going up.

Has embrace for about 7 years for two dogs. Really wonderful insurance. Quick to reimburse and not a lot of fighting with them. We had one incident where they would not cover a pre-existing condition, except even the vet stated it wasn’t pre-existing. They helped us through several pet emergencies and illnesses. The reason we quit was simply pricing. Every year the premiums were going up and by year 8 we were paying almost 6 times the original premiums. found cheaper insurance with lemonade that covers more. They did make it very easy to discontinue.

Our precious 6-year old dog was…

Our precious 6-year old dog was recently lost quickly due to an aggressive cancer. There were some quick-hitting veterinarian and hospital bills as a result. Embrace Pet Insurance honored the contractual agreement to provide coverage. They were quick to review, communicate and reimburse fully per the terms of our contract. They were also compassionate in their messaging, which is crucial when you are being crushed by sudden grief as a pet owner. Will definitely return as a customer to Embrace Pet Insurance in the future.

Monthly Cost

$13 – $100, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

You have a co-pay of 10%, 20% or 30% after your deductible, depending on your chosen plan. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.

Payout Limits

Annual limit of $2000, $5000, $10,000 or $15,000.

Deductible

Annual deductible options from $100 – $1,000.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 6 weeks old to enroll. New pets over 14 are eligible for accident-only coverage. Once enrolled, pets can stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

There is a two-week illness waiting period, which begins on your policies’ effective date. Orthopedic conditions have additional Waiting or exclusion periods that vary by state.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Hereditary and congenital conditions are covered if they have not been diagnosed or suspected before the policy becomes active. Main plan covers alternative treatments such as chiropractic, acupuncture and homeopathic when provided by a licensed veterinarian. Optional wellness and prescription drug plans are available for an additional cost.
