Embrace | Pet Insurance Review

Have carried per insurance since our dog was born, she is now 11. Embrace is easy to work with and reliable. Too bad human health insurance is not as easy and good!

This is the first time I've ever taken out pet insurance. I'm not able to review regarding claims/reimbursement as I've not even taken possession of my kitten yet. I will say I explored a variety of policies and Embrace has the best wellness reimbursement I found. With a kitten the wellness is by far most important (shots, neuter, chip, flea/tick meds). The others have annual caps on specific wellness care where Embrace doesn't. I spoke to Jeff who was very knowledgeable and seemed as excited about my new kitten as I am! He was also very knowledgeable about Main Coons even though he's a dog person. Lol So far I am very pleased but we will see how things progress as I make claims and my kitten ages. I do understand like human life insurance cost will go up as he gets older and hope that I can continue to afford the premiums down the road.

Great accident & illness plan but the wellness plan is pretty terrible, netting you basically $25/year if you even cap it out. I also docked another point because they don't let you cancel your plan online. Instead you have to call them so they can try to stop you from cancelling. I'm pretty sure this policy even violates state laws in NY and California as any service that lets you sign up online has to let you cancel online as well.

DO NOT GET THIS PET INSURANCE!! Their premiums go up every year!! We have NEVER used the insurance and the premium has doubled in the 3 years that we’ve had it. We got the insurance for our golden retriever when he was 3 months old and he is now 3 years old. He has had some health issues, so now if we switch our insurance none of the issues will be covered. Deceptive company who price gauges every year. Went from paying $65 when first enrolled, to now $142 3 years later with NO CLAIMS!!

Having the insurance was great but even after approving the surgery, it took another 2 weeks before it was actually finalized and the payment was in my acct. My biggest issue is waiting on hold to actually speak with someone. Maybe consider calling back when you are next in line like other companies do. Despite this I would still recommend Embrace.
