We adopted our first pup and he was a rescue with some health concerns. I know having a dog requires more care so we decided to purchase pet insurance and so glad we did. I read reviews on a lot of different companies and chose wisely with ASPCA. I have had most all of my claims fulfilled. I love the user friendly app and how quickly we are reimbursed. Seriously awesome return on the monthly payment. Thank you ASPCA and Champ is happy and healthy.

At first I wasn't sure if I really needed pet insurance, but to be honest it was the best decision. My Bernie Pena (Saint Bernard) was born on March 28th, 2015 and we had him for 7 amazing years. Unfortunately, there was issues with his spinal cord. I saw a lot of people put down their dogs because it was too expensive to simply diagnose their dogs. When we were put into an uncomfortable position to take our Saint to the hospital, we did it without hesitation because we knew that our insurance covered 90% of the bill with a $500.00 deductible. We did everything we could knowing that money (because of our insurance) was not an issue. I told myself that I would hate to be put in a position of putting my dog to sleep because of money. When my Saint passed away ASPCA called to give me their condolences. To everyone that I once talked to at ASPCA for a claim/ insurance questions, Thank you! During hard times you made life easier!

Easy to apply

Easy to apply. ASPCA is trusted because of their history of defense of animals and consistent action on their behalf. Cannot say more, I have not had to use the insurance yet.

It was easy to compare insurance and I…

It was easy to compare insurance and I feel ASPCA offers a wide range of coverage on pure bred as well as mixed breeds. It pays to compare.

Monthly Cost

Rates start at: $10 (for accident only), $16 (Complete Coverage). Rates vary based on species, age, breed, and location.

Coverage

The pay-out amount is based on the actual vet bill, at a rate pre-selected by the customer: 90%, 80% or 70%

Payout Limits

Annual limits can be set by the customer, ranging from $2,500 to $20,000, including an unlimited option. No lifetime limits.

Deductible

$100, $250 or $500 annually.

Age Limits

No upper age limits. Pets must be at least 8 weeks old to enroll.

Waiting Period

There are no waiting periods for preventive care. Coverage begins 14 days after date listed on policy for accidents, illnesses, and knee/ligament conditions.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions, cosmetic procedures and breeding costs are not covered. ASPCA Pet Health Insurance has two Preventive Care plans that can be added to help cover a pet’s wellness care, including annual exams, vaccinations, tests, dental cleanings and flea/heartworm preventive. Preventive Care plans reimburse up to a set amount for each listed treatment. If your pet exhibited symptoms of a knee and ligament condition at any time, prior to enrollment or during a waiting period, all ligament and knee conditions will be excluded. Ligament and Knee are conditions involving a ligament, patella, meniscus or soft tissue disorder of the knee. Accident-Only coverage available.
