ASPCA | Pet Insurance Review

My wife and I adopted two German Shepherds about three years ago. Never having had dogs previously, we were pretty clueless about the potential for large medical expenses (I’ve had cats my whole life; they don’t get into much trouble while sleeping all day!). Dogs, on the other hand, seem to be a magnet for problems. Before we explored Petshealth Care Plan Insurance, one of our dogs was bitten by the other dog, opening up a huge gaping whole near his hind quarters. Several weeks and thousands of dollars later, our dog was better. If we’d had pet insurance then, we would have save a TON of money. Since we’ve had insurance from Petshealth, we’ve had to deal with a plethora of “issues” with our dogs, and thankfully, our insurance has been there for us. Frankly, we downgraded to “basic” insurance to cover accidents, injuries, etc., which doesn’t provide as much benefit as the previous plan, but this is more affordable and fits well into our budget. We urge our friends with pets, particularly dogs, to investigate pet insurance; specifically, Petshealth Care Plan. Appreciatively, Jim Lackey Carlsbad, CA

Good Morning, I am writing to Thank You for the insurance i have thru your company. Millie, My rescued Beagle had a tough life before she found us. I am so Blessed to have this insurance as Millie has needed surgery for tumors on her underside. She has also had a hernia operation. And she found her self eating chocolate covered nuts !! Needless to say , I had this insurance which paid for 80% of the cost for all these surgerys !! In these tought econmic times I could not ask for more than i have gotten from this insurance policy . I have had other Pet insurance in my time but NONE even come close to the policy I have with you !! my other Begal Corkey is covered too but has not had to use the insurance but i know if something would happen you would be here to save the day !! I've had this pet insurance for the last few years. Luckily I only needed to use it for routine stuff and the coverage was great for this. Recently my dog had to go to an emergency service with a follow up with our Vet. This was very costly but cost was not a question. The insurance helped me alot by covering most of the bill. The cost was never an issue but it's comforting to know that if something happens to your pet you don't have to worry there is help with ASPCA Pet Insurance.

I got a medium-level insurance plan from ASPCA for my young dog. I don't expect any major health problems, but she is very active and I worry that she'll have an accident playing too hard. It cost me several hundred dollars to get a vet to even look at some tiny cut she got on her paw pad, so I wanted an affordable plan that could limit how much I'd have to pay for vet visits like that. ASPCA's level 2 plan is great. Affordable price each month, and I met my deductible within a few months of signing up.

When we welcomed our Wheaten Terrier into our family 8 years ago we decided to insure him with Petshealth Care Plan Insurance. We of course hoped we would never need it but were glad to have it to fall back upon if necessary. All was well until a few months ago when he scratched his eye and repeated visits to his Veterinarian couldn't rectify the situation. He had to go to an animal eye specialist who had to surgically scrape the dead cells from his eye and then partially sew it shut to help it heal. After only one week she removed the stiches on his eye and he has been his old self ever since. Not only did Petshealth help us with the cost of his regular Veterinarian but also covered a great deal of the specialists costs as well as the subsequent medication. As with most insurers, they do not cover 100% but 80% of normal and customary costs. They processed our claims in a timely manner with no questions asked. Thank you Petshealth for being there when needed. It is a great feeling to know they will be there for us and Teddy if anything should ever happen.
