ASPCA insurance does not provide stated coverage.

I had this insurance for three years with no claims, but when my dog developed unresolved diarrhea, weight loss and anxiety I had my vet examine her. He diagnosed colitis and prescribed an oral paste for the diarrhea, anxiety meds to calm her from the cramping and diarrhea, and a prescription probiotic food additive to allow her gut to absorb her food. The prescription dog food was expensive, but I did accept that as my expense to help her calm her gi system down-- but the insurance would not pay for the paste for diarrhea (really???) or for the anxiety prescription (did the colitis cause the anxiety, or vice-versa?), nor did they pay for the prescribed probiotic needed to help her gut calm down and absorb the food. This is not something I can buy over-the-counter, it was a prescription by her vet. I trust that my vet has the medical training to know what was needed, and she has resolved the episode of diarrhea. I cancelled my subscription to this non-insurance-I'm better off to put that monthly fee aside each month and pay for veterinary bills on my own.

dependable and efficient

We have had two emergency situations with our retriever. Hartville followed through on both claims. We received reimbursement quickly with very little effort. I would recommend Hartville Pet Insurance to everyone!!!

Dealing with Cushings

Sofia had to have several blood and urine tests to determine that she does have Cushing. I submitted the claims which were handled quickly and the checks arrived in the mail promptly. My only negative thing about the way the claims are handled is that it may seem that in NYC, where I live, the cost of those tests are higher than the allowance set by Petshealth Care Plan. So it was a bit costly for us. Otherwise, the phone people were very helpful, polity and caring.

Awesome!

I have a Cairn Terrier, 8 1/2 years old. He has experienced some dental issues involving extractions. Also he had a small fatty tumor removed. ASPCA has always been there for us. Service is exceptional. I feel that the premiums are reasonable as well as the reimbursement. The claims have always been processed timely. Thank you ASPCA.

Peace of Mind (and wallet)

I've now had to submit several claims for different problems with my 10 yr. old 11 lb. Maltese/Yorkie mix. Each claim has been handled smoothly and efficiently. Being among those with very low income, knowing I have some financial back-up enables me to see that my wee one gets the best veterinary care.
