I have been with ASPCA Pet Insurance…for over 10 years..and they are leaving us hanging..

I have been with ASPCA Pet Insurance for over 10 years..insuring my 3 cats (now I have 2). Sunny was diagnosed with IBD last year and has been treated. In June our vet discovered anemia and ordered more bloodwork, which Lymphoma was discovered. Now we are dealing with an oncologist vet and chemotherapy. The claim was denied because we reached our limit. I explained this is a new disease..new vet..new treatment. Because the initial cause was IBD..they claim it is the same illness. I said, if you were treated for a cold..and it turned into pneumonia..would it be denied because one caused the other?? Or is it now a new disease? They are leaving us hanging (although I will write an appeal) and I would NOT recommend them

We are so thankful for ASPCA Pet Insurance!

We are so thankful we have pet insurance through ASPCA! When our dog was injured we were able to focus on her getting better and knew ASPCA would help pay for the surgery. Recently our veterinarian has put our pup on daily medication. It is a huge relief that this is largely covered by our policy (Accident and Illness Coverage). Every time I call ASPCA, they always ask how she is doing and you can tell the Customer Service Representatives really care. We highly recommend ASPCA Pet Health Insurance to all pet parents!

Monthly Cost

Rates start at: $10 (for accident only), $16 (Complete Coverage). Rates vary based on species, age, breed, and location.

Coverage

The pay-out amount is based on the actual vet bill, at a rate pre-selected by the customer: 90%, 80% or 70%

Payout Limits

Annual limits can be set by the customer, ranging from $2,500 to $20,000, including an unlimited option. No lifetime limits.

Deductible

$100, $250 or $500 annually.

Age Limits

No upper age limits. Pets must be at least 8 weeks old to enroll.

Waiting Period

There are no waiting periods for preventive care. Coverage begins 14 days after date listed on policy for accidents, illnesses, and knee/ligament conditions.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions, cosmetic procedures and breeding costs are not covered. ASPCA Pet Health Insurance has two Preventive Care plans that can be added to help cover a pet’s wellness care, including annual exams, vaccinations, tests, dental cleanings and flea/heartworm preventive. Preventive Care plans reimburse up to a set amount for each listed treatment. If your pet exhibited symptoms of a knee and ligament condition at any time, prior to enrollment or during a waiting period, all ligament and knee conditions will be excluded. Ligament and Knee are conditions involving a ligament, patella, meniscus or soft tissue disorder of the knee. Accident-Only coverage available.
