Thank God for my baby's insurance

I adopted Ashleigh AnnaBella when she was 10.2 years old. A sad little girl in need of a new forever home. Later she had problems with her teeth, and then thyroid issues. I am happy to have purchased insurance for her and my other cat. It paid for itself.

Always great customer service

Quick responses and great customer service. Claims settled in a few short weeks sometimes faster. Good coverage - I’ve never had any problem with reimbursement from them, and I’ve been with them almost 3 years now, I just keep renewing my policy.

Helpful and responsiveness

ASPCA has always been responsive and timely in their response to claims. They have always been positive and friendly. I recently looked into another pet insurance company and realized it was far more expensive than ASPCA and it didn't offer anything additional.

Pre-existing condition opinions

I wouldn't say they are horrible because they have helped me through a lot of issues with my dog. The area I do not agree with is their "opinion" of pre-existing conditions. A dog that itches doesnt mean it is related to allergies. Could be mites, atopic dermatitis, a crawling insect, and so much more! When I adopted my dog he has some itchy skin. The vet did skin scrape and nothing abnormal was seen however we treated as if it was demodex and after a little while the itching resolved. Over a year later my dog developed itching so since I am in the veterinary field I chose to take him to a dermatologist. ASPCA said the "itching" was pre-existing. He was itching for a completely different reason. I appealed and the still determined it was pre-existing. Not much I can do but keep them because my dog will need another hip surgery soon and I cant go to another company because that really is pre-existing. So all in all I should have gone with another company especially since I get a discount through my job for nationwide. Aspca wont give veterinary technicians a discount unless the actually work in practice, I work on the industry side. Not entirely happy with this insurance plan.
