I found that there was very little
I found that there was very little explanation of the plan I purchased and never having had pet insurance I didn’t know the right questions to ask. Not until I needed it to cover a surgical expense was I told the bottom line of the coverage and all the “uncovered” specifics. Also I was never told that the premiums would increase with the age of the pet. They have requested copies of my pets files from the vet and she’s has written numerous letters to obtain coverage of services or prescriptions. It very annoying and time consuming for the vet. The customer service people are always very nice but I would never again purchase an insurance plan from Pet Partners. It is the integrity of the corporation that I have a problem with. My advice for pet owners is to create a savings account for your pet by putting the amount of monthly premiums in that account for future use.

AKC Pet Insurance is better than the…
AKC Pet Insurance is better than the health insurance I have for myself. I don’t know how they manage to find such bright, friendly and helpful phone agents, but every time I call, they are well-informed and eager to help. My dog had an eye problem recently and I had to take him to a specialist. The claim was covered promptly and with absolutely no hassle at 80%. Every experience I have had with them has been positive. I am comforted and completely satisfied to have AKC Pet Insurance protecting my dog.

We have had this insurance for almost 10 years and we have been very satisfied.
Monthly Cost
$5 – $90 depending on coverage options chosen.
Coverage
You have a co-pay of 20% after your annual deductible.
The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.
Payout Limits
Per incident limit of $1,500 – $8,000 and annual limits of $3,000 – $16,000 depending on your chosen plan.
Deductible
Choose from $100 – $1,000 annual deductible.
Age Limits
Pets must be at least 8 weeks old to enroll with no upper age limit. Coverage options available for senior pets.
Waiting Period
Coverage goes into effect one day after enrollment. There is a 5-day wait period for accident claims and 14-day wait period for illness claims.
AKC Pet Insurance provides 30 days of accident and illness insurance coverage included with AKC registration for newly registered puppies.
Exclusions
Pre-existing conditions are not covered.
Customizable plans allow you to add-on coverage for inherited and congenital conditions, exam fees and wellness care.
Cancer coverage included in base accident and illness plan.
