Happy with the coverage

I had AKC pet insurance for my former dog for several years and now have it for a new puppy. I have found the coverage to be better than other policies and am grateful that they have added the Inherited coverage

Great service and quick to send money after claim is submitted.

I was impressed with the way they proceeded my claim. It was submitted directly from my vet and I got the money shortly after. Every time I call, the staff is super friendly and they are quick with answers.

I have never had Pet Insurance before

I have never had Pet Insurance before. I was extremely happy and surprised at the speed the claims were handled. No hidden exceptions, the amount I expected to cover the services were covered.

Monthly Cost

$5 – $90 depending on coverage options chosen.

Coverage

You have a co-pay of 20% after your annual deductible. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.

Payout Limits

Per incident limit of $1,500 – $8,000 and annual limits of $3,000 – $16,000 depending on your chosen plan.

Deductible

Choose from $100 – $1,000 annual deductible.

Age Limits

Pets must be at least 8 weeks old to enroll with no upper age limit. Coverage options available for senior pets.

Waiting Period

Coverage goes into effect one day after enrollment. There is a 5-day wait period for accident claims and 14-day wait period for illness claims. AKC Pet Insurance provides 30 days of accident and illness insurance coverage included with AKC registration for newly registered puppies.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Customizable plans allow you to add-on coverage for inherited and congenital conditions, exam fees and wellness care. Cancer coverage included in base accident and illness plan.
