Premium went up about 25% without…
Premium went up about 25% without notice. The "added benefits" were not worth that mandatory hike. I am not sure this insurance is a good value. I have been on it for 15 months and my dog has had two surgeries, and I am breaking even at best. I hope in the future my dog doesn't average two surgeries a year, which means there is no way I break even with this insurance.

Very easy to work with
Very easy to work with. Always have pleasant, helpful people to talk to. Quick turnaround. I would highly recommend pet insurance to pet owners and very highly recommend AKC Pet Insurance!

Zero rating
Zero rating. Puppy went in for spay which should be covered, no 14 day waiting period explained at all. Illness found, because less than 14 days , illness will not be covered. Insurance had bee dropped and have recommended to others not to purchase

Best pet insurance available
Best pet insurance available. Provide the vet invoice and the bill is covered with no hassle or loopholes to not pay like some other insurers. I highly recommend akc coverage.
Monthly Cost
$5 – $90 depending on coverage options chosen.
Coverage
You have a co-pay of 20% after your annual deductible.
The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.
Payout Limits
Per incident limit of $1,500 – $8,000 and annual limits of $3,000 – $16,000 depending on your chosen plan.
Deductible
Choose from $100 – $1,000 annual deductible.
Age Limits
Pets must be at least 8 weeks old to enroll with no upper age limit. Coverage options available for senior pets.
Waiting Period
Coverage goes into effect one day after enrollment. There is a 5-day wait period for accident claims and 14-day wait period for illness claims.
AKC Pet Insurance provides 30 days of accident and illness insurance coverage included with AKC registration for newly registered puppies.
Exclusions
Pre-existing conditions are not covered.
Customizable plans allow you to add-on coverage for inherited and congenital conditions, exam fees and wellness care.
Cancer coverage included in base accident and illness plan.
