AKC | Pet Insurance Review

This was the absolute worst pet insurance company with terrible customer support. This team will make it impossible to submit a claim and will scam you out of any reimbursement possible. I had an issue with a claim that I was supposed to be reimbursed on and they came up with every reason it wasn’t valid, even though it was. I asked to speak with a supervisor to help rectify the situation and they told me a supervisor would call me back but they never did. I will never use this company again. I’m so disappointed in the AKC name after this experience.

Today I would like to thank Nicky for answering all of my questions and more on several of my recent claims. She was kind and professional and explained everything to me and left nothing out. When I got off the phone I had a clear understanding of what was covered and she also took the time with me that I needed to truly understand the claim process. I told her I was new at this And she said that it was fine and she would walk me through it. I can’t say enough good words about AKC.

We have had AKC insurance for over 10 years. It has been excellent as far as coverage and response. We had one dog with many health issues. Without this insurance she would not have lived the many years she was able to.

Kat eagerly assisted me in clearing up a claim error. She promptly (& securely) responded to every one of my emails. After a thorough look over she was able to advise me how to correct the situation. We have recently added two dogs to our family, and insured them both. But as they were months apart and I was new to the world of insurance for my pets, I was very confused when we combined their policies. Michaela was very helpful with me on the phone, helped me combined the puppies policies, and was even able to recommend to me the best way to insure them. When the drafts came out of my account, I was again confused. I emailed in and Michaela again was very quick to respond, and very thorough with her explanation. I am so very thankful for her help, patience and understanding as we venture into insuring our purebred babies.
