“Better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it!”

I have been using AKC Pet Insurance for almost 11 years, and have never been disappointed in their coverage, customer support and personal care. My Beagle has suffered seizures, lipomas, ear infections and other Beagle related maladies. AKC has been my godsend through thick and thin. Regarding Claim Filing, I remember “Back In The Day” having to print the form, fill it out by hand, take it to the Veternarian for signature and verification. It was a necessary hassle. This past week I needed to submit a new claim. When I logged on to the AKC website, I was more than pleasantly surprised to see the new, easy to use, Customer Portal. All my past information was stored and available. With just a couple clicks, uploading Veterinarian Invoices, and... Claim DONE! Kudos to everyone at AKC Pet Insurance for a fantastic website and portal! Thank you!

Monthly Cost

$5 – $90 depending on coverage options chosen.

Coverage

You have a co-pay of 20% after your annual deductible. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.

Payout Limits

Per incident limit of $1,500 – $8,000 and annual limits of $3,000 – $16,000 depending on your chosen plan.

Deductible

Choose from $100 – $1,000 annual deductible.

Age Limits

Pets must be at least 8 weeks old to enroll with no upper age limit. Coverage options available for senior pets.

Waiting Period

Coverage goes into effect one day after enrollment. There is a 5-day wait period for accident claims and 14-day wait period for illness claims. AKC Pet Insurance provides 30 days of accident and illness insurance coverage included with AKC registration for newly registered puppies.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Customizable plans allow you to add-on coverage for inherited and congenital conditions, exam fees and wellness care. Cancer coverage included in base accident and illness plan.
