How to Save Money at Cat Care Clinic - East
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
Cat Care Clinic was my primary vet for my three cats from 2020-2024. I have appreciated the care and attention that Dr. Luther and Dr. Gallagher have provided. Unfortunately, I did not have a good experience with one of their vets. My orange cat, who is sweet in every other circumstance, is a terror at the vet. I struggle to get gabapentin down him because he promptly pukes it back up. I understand that he is difficult to work with at the vet- however, the majority of vets have been able to examine him and do what needs to be done (sometimes with sedation). The reason I gave a 3 star review is because my orange cat had a clogged anal gland- I took him in as soon as I noticed as advised by the clinic. The vet that was in that day refused to examine him because I did not give him gabapentin prior to the appointment (this is a consistent theme- I always attempt to get it down my cat, but he frequently pukes it up. This vet has refused to work with him in the past). Because this appointment was unplanned, I did not have a gabapentin prescription to give him. The vet sent us home with instructions to give him gabapentin and come back the next day. Unfortunately, the gland ruptured between appointments and he needed surgery to clean the wound and repair the gland. This surgery (as they all are) was costly and could have been avoided if the vet sedated my cat and expressed the gland. This cost a significant amount of money during a time that we were financially strapped. While I have had wonderful experiences with the other vets, I cannot trust that my cat will be taken care of in the event of another medical episode. The new clinic has worked with my cat and has been able to complete checkups and vaccinations without gabapentin and for a lower cost. Additionally, it is significantly more expensive to get medications through CCC. The cost to get my cat’s antibiotics was 3x the amount Chewy’s pharmacy charged. It was very difficult to work with CCC to get the prescription through Chewy and the communication was very poor.

The Cat Care Clinic was the main clinic for our three senior kitties. The vets and vet techs were all awesome, we were usually able to get same-day appointments when needed, and have overall had a really good experience with this clinic. I am giving 4 starts because, whew, this clinic is EXPENSIVE. If you have insurance, it's well-worth the price. However, you can definitely get quality care at a more comfortable price at other clinics in the area.

Cat Care Clinic saved my cat's life in 2021. When he was blocked and UW Vet Emergency handed me a piece of paper of putting my cat to sleep, we took him to Cat Care Clinic and my cat was saved. Cat Care Clinic's doctor gave us a very honest and empathetic opinion and now our cat (Ness) is 5 years. Of course, vet appointments CAN be quite expensive. However, it is also owner's responsibility to get a reasonable pet insurance. We were lucky enough to get a pet insurance where we can get a top notch service at a fraction of cost. Thank you Cat Care Clinic, you guys are amazing.

We’ve been taking our cats here for a while now, and they’ve always been fantastic. The staff is super friendly, knowledgeable, and really take their time to explain everything. They’re also amazing at handling cats—especially one of ours who gets very anxious at the vet, and somehow they manage it so calmly and kindly every time. The clinic itself is clean and cat-friendly, the wait times are short, and I really appreciate how thorough they are without pushing unnecessary stuff. Great care, great people, great value. Highly recommend.

Dr. Erik and the rest of the staff were friendly, patient, knowledgeable, and generally amazing with my new kitty! She was adopted off the street a couple months ago and immediately took to the cat care clinic team. I felt like she was in safe and capable hands.
