How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Animal Center for Emergency and Specialty (ACES)

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Overall, nice new facility with the coldest air conditioner in madison. (The exam room where I was with my kitty for an hour and a half was so damn cold) my chief complaints for my visit was crusty head and cloudy eye…. Dr Catz did stain and determined nothing was wrong scratch wise or infection wise. Then proceeded to gaslight me by trying to convince me my kitten (who has blue eyes) has two different colored eyes and that’s what I was noticing. Tuhhh.. okay lady. She's still squinting and the cloudiness is worse since the visit. For the crusty head- did a scrape and said no yeast or inflammatory cells. Dr Catz said the crusty rash could be food or environmental allergies. Also, did a swab in the ear and noticed a tiny bit of infection- I bet that’s why her eye is cloudy. we paid $460 dollars and I still have to take my cat to the vet to address the crusty head that’s not improving AND the eye that’s cloudier and yesterday. The cherry on top—misgendering. Kept referring to me as “mommy” even as I was wearing a hat that said “daddy”

100% recommend I called before going in because I'm always overreacting to my dogs mood changes, but this day he hadn't lifted his head all afternoon which was super weird. On the phone, they suggested to bring him in because his symptoms were so broad that they couldn't diagnose him without getting their hands on him. We made an appointment and arrived almost 30 minutes early but they got us right into a room. Everyone was so warm and friendly, helpful, and super loving toward our baby boy. We ended up being there for a couple of hours, but it was because they took the time to understand what was going on. He got meds and a prescription for rest ❤️ below he is pictured resting and on drugs, but generally happy

Had such a nice experience I wish they could be my primary vet. They were very informative and gave us options on what we can do for our dog. Priced everything out for us beforehand and didn’t have any of the fear mongering I usually experience when going to the vet with a concern. Their facility was so clean/smelled clean. Their team was 10/10.

I brought my dog here because he ingested some trash and they induced vomiting for him. he's totally fine now, they took good care of him. the main reason I want to give a good review is because they also took amazing care of me. I was in extreme emotional distress, just worried about my dog and they were so kind and patient with me. they were kind while I struggled to figure out payment for his care. I've been to a few emergency vets in my time and these guys were by far the best experience I've had. the doctors, techs, and the woman who checked us in were all amazing. the woman at check in named Jessie talked to me while I waited to hear if my dog was ok, and she was so calm and sweet and I just want to express my gratitude for her specifically.

What a teriffic resource for the east side! The facility is new, clean, bright, with advanced features and a wonderful, caring staff. Vet Tech Crystal was super with my sick cat - patient, low-key, and gentle. Dr Lisa was the same - competent, kind, understanding, and confidence-inspiring. Their phone/intake team were great; they were knowledgeable and professional and kind. No waiting on arrival to get taken to a treatment room; the tech was prompt and thorough, and everyone kept me updated as the evening progressed. I recommend ACES without hesitation!
