How to Save Money at Wagly Veterinary Hospital & Pet Campus | Bellevue

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Wagly is situated in Lake Hills, WA in the same plaza as the King County Library. It is a Washington-based spin off of a California business. The facility is modern & clean. During peak times, it is capable of hosting over 100 animals. Services include boarding, daycare, grooming, and basic Vet. Prices are fair and market competitive. The staff is truly dedicated to their craft, and is exceptionally diverse in a non-in-your-face way. Everybody there first loves animals, and then their job. I would trust anybody there with my pet. My dog is not for everyone, but I have faith that I can communicate with the staff and bring her the care and attention she needs. She shouldn't be locked up just because I have to work, afterall. Give them a shot. Or at least give them a call. 👊💀🍻🚬

100% recommend Wagly. My dog is extremely anxious and reactive to certain things being done to him in vet visits and they have been more than willing to work with him and give him a great experience in the vet. After a few months working with them he is doing much better for vet appointments. Their staff is great and care a lot about the pets.

There are so many issues wrong with this facility, I don’t even know where to begin! When I had frequented their business, it was about two years ago. It is my understanding that they have now changed management, but it seems that poor office skills still takes position on the team! I was sent a bill for a debt owed to them for $25! Let me repeat $25 and they sent or tried to send me to collections! And the whole silliness of this is if you have been to any veterinarian you know you cannot leave the facility until services are all paid and money has been rendered to them! So again, how did I leave the office if I owed $25?! Not only that, it’s in the notes that the credit was to be given to me, but yet somehow, two years later, this “bill” was due from me😐. The notes are clearly stated, that it was their error, which is why the $25 was taken off and or the free shot was given. I have been waiting for two days now to get this email back from the office manager stating that it was their error because she clearly said it over the phone which I recorded……. Yet I still haven’t received anything! This is why I stopped going to them! I would’ve given them one star, but I gave them two stars because they deal with animals and I gave them credit for that😒!

Excellent location for dogs and cats, with a vet hospital inside too. Peaceful environment with webcam access. We have been in search of a good daycare and onboarding for our Frenchie. I think this is the one!

Im not sure what happened to the service here. Customers service went down hill , they don't answers phone call or respond to emails. No follow up phone calls or letting you know your prescription has been refill.
