How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Highlands Veterinary Center

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

My experience with Dr Springer has been very good. He explains things in a way I can understand them. Sometimes I am not greeted by happy people however. Diann the groomer is great. I have been going here for years.

Griffin and my 1st visit was absolutely perfect! We love Dr. Jeff Stuppler. He gave Griffin (10 week old German Shepherd puppy) a head to toe examination. He was professional, personable, thoughtful, informative and funny. Dr. Jeff volunteered a wealth of information, what brand foods to avoid, tips on how to get Griffin to like having his feet, ears etc. touched and handled, where to get obedience training... the list goes on and on! Dr. Jeff asked me several times during Griffin's visit if I had any questions. My answer was "No" each time. He answered any questions I had and answered questions that I didn't even know I had without my asking. Dr. Jeff even made a personal follow-up call. The staff was also wonderful beginning with my 1st phone call to Ronda the receptionist to make an appointment. The other receptionist (sorry can't remember her name) played with Griffin while I filled out paperwork. Jessica the Technician was sweet, personable & also great with Griffin! I couldn't be more pleased with our 1st experience and am looking forward to Griffin spending his entire life in the care of Highlands Veterinary Center!

We have been taking our two pups here for years and have not been disappointed. They do a really good job. They helped our pup with her allergies and better quality of life.

Nice staff for the most part, one of the receptionist has a issue with letting people finish their sentences but overall nice people. However, its a price gougers haven. First visit, to check on my dogs leg was $80. Guy walks in for 5 minutes, looks at my dogs splint for about 1 minute says yep ok its good.. then charged me another $20 for a refil of ibuprofen for my dog when I had a whole bottle still. Week later go to set up a rewrap of the splint, they want to charge another $80 just to be tthere, $80 to do a 3 minute wrap job and $$$$ for a possible sedation. Oh and they wanna do that weekly. Almost $200 week just to put gauze on plastic and tape.
