How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Banfield Pet Hospital
Preventive care
Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.
Compare prescription pricing
Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.
Consider pet insurance
Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

I have been going to Banfield for 7 years and have always had the best experience! Dr. Barlow and Dr. Read are amazing at what they do and take such care of my cat. The staff greets you with a smile and kindness which is appreciated.

Extremely disappointed in this veterinary service. First in person appointment would have been 4 weeks from when we called, instead they told us we could drop our pet off for his appointment. No details were given to us about how long this “first appointment for enrollment” would take when we dropped off. Four hours into the appointment and we still had not been called to pick up. We finally received a call 7 hours after we dropped him off that he was ready for pick up. When we arrived the receptionist wasn’t even sitting behind the counter and when we told her we were here to pick up our pet she lazily walked behind the counter claiming she was tired because she “was out all night”. Not exactly the type of professionalism I would like from someone entrusted with the care of our pet. We were told they gave him water yet he came sprinting into the house when we got home and drank an entire bowl of water within 30 seconds. We will NOT be returning to this veterinary clinic and I caution anyone looking to take their pet there. Extremely disappointed that we couldn’t even get a courtesy phone call to let us know how long this appointment was going to take. 10/10 do NOT recommend.

This place is amazing at the details that they provide and the attention that they give to your pet and the compassion for they show in regard to your worried feelings for your fur baby and their well-being. Quick to answer phones, easy to set an appointment and was able to get my dog seen less than one week of making the appointment which rarely ever happens anymore. I will definitely be going back and I highly recommend this as a go to for any medical concerns you may have for your pet!!! I love the staff 😁

I called Banfield after finding out my pet’s rabies vaccine had expired and she needed her vaccination to get her groomed. I called to make the appointment and they scheduled her for an afternoon appointment a week later. I then received a phone call the day prior to her appointment saying that I would have to reschedule since she had not previously been seen before and I needed to drop her off in the morning and the doctor would do an exam and then let me know when I could pick her up?? Huh I just need a rabies vaccine? I told the receptionist I wish she would have told me or called me sooner since I have to wait 48 hours after her rabies shot to get her groomed. She said she didn’t have any appointments until sometime in April. I will be going somewhere else.

This new location doesn’t have any nearby grass outside for a dog potty spot. They only had a bed of rocks for dogs to go potty on. So, I had to have my dog figure out what was going on with the rocks and no grass. I’ve never seen that before at a vet or a groomer that doesn’t have any convenient grass nearby outside…. Also, aside from dental and any surgeries, I’m not of a fan of the “drop off” your pet idea that Banfield does and makes a pet wait all day from 8:45 am until 4:00 pm. Only for approximately less than an hour appointment….. I can understand for a dental cleaning. I wasn’t told my appointment yesterday was a “drop off” and didn’t say in the app. They told me to comeback ar 4:00 to pick my dog and cat up. I had work right after the vet appointment and couldn’t come back later at 4:00. I prefer an actual vet appointment where a vet and stays with you until the visit is completed. Instead all of the bouncing around all day and eventually getting to your pet until 4:00 that’s been waiting.
