How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Rio Rico Ranch

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

I noticed there isn’t a long line anymore. This place used to be packed with people, the service was great, and the prices were reasonable. Unfortunately, I can no longer recommend it. They close at 1 PM, and the vet leaves at that time. If you need to pick up your dog after that, expect poor service and little to no helpful information.

Took my cat here to get spayed. It seemed everything was ok, but she passed away the next day. I followed the directions to deliver her medicine to a T, and yet I still lost her. I'm not convinced her death was all my fault, for i did everything i could to save her. My only regret was taking her here. Her name was Edelgard.

Please do not take your pets here!!! I took my dog for heart worm treatment and they were very disorganized. The veterinarian was very condescending and neglected to give me after care instructions for my baby and soon after she passed away. The treatment and vaccines were administered by inexperienced veterinary students. Please stay away from this place.

Letty the office manager is the most unprofessional woman I have ever dealt with. There was a big miscommunication when I went to pick up my dog who had gotten neutered which resulted in him getting a second rabies vaccine. She laughed in my face when I was asking if my small dog would be okay. She says it was busy in the morning when I dropped my dog off but in reality it was NOT. She doesn’t know how to mute a phone and I heard her bad mouthing me when I called to ask for a vet tech to give me information if my dog had received his pain meds before I picked him up. She tried explaining my dogs procedure to me as if she had done it herself. When I asked to speak to a manager she told me it was her and refused to give me the number of the vet who is higher up than her. She denied saying she laughed in my face and on the phone which makes her a LIAR. I spoke to the vet and explained the situation to him and he made sure to handle it. Hopefully the vet sees what a liar she is and how she tries to cover her lies. All the vet techs are nice except the incompetent, unprofessional, horrible customer service woman who runs the front. Oh yeah, she NEVER answers the phone on the first time you call, so make sure to call 6x. If you’re reading this Letty, I’m praying for you girl…you’re out of your mind.

Yesterday I took a puppy that I rescued a few days ago and they treated us very well, but I will never forget the warmth with which we were treated by the staff, But I will never forget the big heart that the vet has and if this puppy makes it it will be thanks to him.
